Nothing will beat the weirdness of them adding globals to the game.
It was wierd how the word got out back then with no global channels.

"Wha? I don't understa-- OMG. You mean three of my favorite characters are ALL PLAYED BY THE SAME PERSON!?"
In any case, there was a system. Partially, I think global channels made it easier for folks to find each other and thus less likely to rely on Gemini Park for meeting up. Same with SG bases--just another tiny nail in the coffin.
Not necessarily bad, mind you--just changing how we operated.

You talking about those massive meetings that myself, Captain Valor, and Ascendant ran at the Perez Park ampitheatre? Yeah dawg they were organised.
We didn't organize anything, we just showed up. Still, we could put something together, invite all the riffraff to come.

The meetings were held before every issue was released and were roleplayed as an emergency meeting of the greatest heroes in the city coming together to stop a new threat to Paragon. (The new threat in question being whatever the new issue was providing in terms of content.) It was basically our attempt at big epic crossovers you see in comic books.
I remember one time we did it without even a new issue being released. We pretended there was a prison breakout in Brickstown. A lot of people were still low level so they hadn't seen the Zigg yet. We took the guys who'd shown up to the alliance meeting and organised a massive strike force attack against the prisoner spawns just outside the zigg walls, with myself providing information "from the warden" about how we were doing. It was awesome. I remember flying around and seeing all these characters I knew working together to stop an imaginary breakout.
I miss that stuff. There's still a lot of RP on virtue. But not so much server-wide stuff anymore.
With COH going F2P we'll likely be getting a lot of the old school RP crowd coming back, not to mention even more new RPers. I'm positive we can create something like this again.
Anyone interested in doing so please do drop me a message. I has a plan.
Thanks for being the only person to actually tell me. I'd never looked at the sliders on Xan until yesterday. Buffness was on the far right, while everything else was on the far left. He looked ridiculous.

Derp--sorry mate, wrong park. I was thinking Gemini, not Perez. I may have gone to one or two of your Perez get-togethers...don't remember. :/

So many old people; we'd need special accessible seating.

That and a lot of depends.
Seriously, it would be nice to see something epic like the alliance meetings again.

He has actual competitive games to play.

I heard Porch beat a Rad/Rad once in a duel with his Fire/EM blaster.
Didn't you run a supergroup that I beat with Inertial and two other RPers?

Competitive gaming = Hello Kitty?
as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
Fascinating
Xanthor Defender 50 Empathy/Electricity/Power,
Arctic Heat 42 Tanker Fire/Ice/Pyre Guardian
Xanthor Blaster 50 Fire/Electricity/Electric
Dr Victor Fury MM 50 Robo/Dark/Mace Freedom
Support Big Red Balls
Hello Kitty wasn't on the list of games Vince linked to. Competitive games are things such as Counter Strike, Starcraft II, Team Fortress II, etc. Thing that are, while still video games, still much more difficult to be good at than COH. And thusly more competative.
I'd only diss competitive games if I was good at them. I'm not. So I won't.

Because where would gaming in general be with the absence of the competitive gaming scene, sarcastic old *** meme pictures aside?
Oh, nowhere.
Oh, nowhere.
So you think that gaming would be better without the 2D/3D fighters like the Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken & Virtua Fighter series? You think it would be better without Quake, Half Life & Source?
That's not even beginning to mention the fact that online gaming has come as far as it has on account of competitive gaming as well.
There is trollin' afoot.

No trolling, just goofin' afoot.
Honestly? I don't mind competitve gaming. Heck, I play fairly competitve in games that allow it (TF2, L4D/L4D2 to an extent, and more)
I'm just a goofball.
