Contacts Who'd Work With Viglantes and Rogues
It'll never happen, but if it did, lessee...
~The various Striga Island arcs seem like they'd work pretty well for any alignment. Striga's sort of a seedy place anyway, reminds me a lot of Madripoor in the Marvel Universe. I think most Rogues would fit in well there, and I doubt its citizens are picky. Plus, Ernesto Hess on his own is basically proof that certain redside elements are already taking an interest in what's going on there.
~Mercedes Sheldon already demonstrates herself as hiring anyone who can serve her purposes. It seems like it'd be easy to open all her arcs to anyone who could do them.
~Hardcase is already basically a hero contact for villains. Seems like he'd get along pretty well with other vigilantes. Most of the contacts in the Giza in St. Martial might be happy to hire on a vigilante-type, provided said vigilante wasn't already bombing their casino.
~Some of the late-game hero arcs involve...stretching legal procedure a little already. Particularly, the Crey and Malta arcs, and though some of the Crey-contacts are aligned with law enforcement anyway and probably not too keen on hiring mercenaries, I don't see Indigo or Crimson minding as much.

The Going Rogue expansion gave the developers the ability to "disappear" a contact if they didn't exist for your character. For example, in Nova Praetoria, if you kill Cleopatra in your Morality mission, then she no longer appears in the game world to that character even though others can see her and interact with her normally.
Could this work for Vigilante and Rogue contacts?
A villain in Saint Martial sees and interacts with "villain Hardcase," but doesn't see "vigilante Hardcase" who just happens to be standing in about the same spot. Conversely, the vigilante in Saint Martial sees the "vigilante Hardcase" and can interact with him, but is unaware of the "villain Hardcase." So each dual purpose contact would actually be two separate contacts, located very near each other, but each player would only be able to perceive (and interact) with only one of them.
It seems to make sense, but not being a programmer I'm sure the standard "Code Rant" would apply, meaning this is completely unworkable.
But I can hope.

Hardcase should totally give out missions to Vigilantes, so we can shoot him in the head.

Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

This gives me an idea - why not disappear ALL contacts in the game unless you've been introduced to them, or they can be interacted with directly. That way, I don't have to see zillions of people I don't know standing around with circles around their feet, and should make for a more immersive environment. It would also make it feel less like they spend their entire lives with their shoes nailed to that one particular spot.

Meanwhile, yeah, I absolutely agree with the occasional-shady-contact idea. I was disappointed that you couldn't do that in the first place.

Striga strikes me more as the sort of place that should have villain/rogue content alongside the heroic stuff. The contacts themselves generally have you doing good things, but Peebles and Long Jack at least are the kind of pragmatists who might tip off a Rogue, as long as you behaved yourself.

I would be happy to see contacts that only work with either Vigilantes or Rogues.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. Winston Churchill
Scirocco might work well with Vigilantes, you know, if he was honest about what his goal was to said vigilante from the beginning.
Unfortunately that would alter the whole nature of the finale of his second arc.

I seem to remember during the GR beta the rogues and vigilantes could talk to any of the contacts they earned via safeguards and mayhem missions but they disabled it toward the end. So it isn't like they can't do it, they just choose not to allow it.
Too bad because that's exactly what I wanted to do with my rogue. I'd love there to be *something* to do blue-side that wasn't a task force, radio, or hero tip. Even if it was only one pre-existing arc/contact per level-range and those were the only ones you could earn in the bank mission, I'd be happy.
Hey, all.
Something that's been percolating in the back of my mind ever since Going Rogue is the idea that there should be SOME contacts who would be willing to work with Rogues Blueside and some who would work with Viglante's Redside.
For example, I would think that Croatoa's circumstances are dire enough they would not be adverse to hiring a mercenary Rogue to help defeat the Redcaps ...
I'm not saying there should be Viglante/Rogue Contacts CREATED (though that'd be awesome) but there should be existing contacts on in Paragon and the Rogue Isles who'd work with morally gray characters ....
What other contacts do you think might be willing to do so?
