Was mission completion XP nerfed?

I ask this because I just tested mission completion XP at the following settings and all of them gave the same XP for completion.

6 Heroes x 0 No Bosses
1 Heroes x 4 No Bosses
8 Heroes x -1 No Bosses
1 Heroes x 0 No Bosses

Every mission completion gave a total of 7300 XP /w rested bonus at level 37.

So was this nerfed at some point?

difficulty has never affected completion bonus, the completion bonus has always been static relative to the level of the mission

Mission difficulty in the past has effected mission reward bonus. I believe this was changed when the difficulty was able to be adjusted the way we have it now. Before when you could set it to Unyielding, Invincible etc...etc it did effect mission reward bonus, but it hasn't since the change.

I remember testing this when the new difficulty system was added.

How'd the old difficulty system work?
Base was +0/x1
Then +0/x2.
+1/x1
+1/x2
+2/x1

Does that sound right?

It makes sense to me that the devs would make the the mission completion bonus static because it would have been a pain to configure an appropriate scale for everything between +0/x1 and +4/x8. Also, the added XP from being able to change the virtual team size alone more than makes up for the loss in completion bonuses.

Be well, people of CoH.

Under the old system, you got a bonus to Mission Completion XP at each difficulty that increased the enemy levels (So going from +0/x1 to +0/x2 did not increase XP, but +0/x2 to +1/x1 did, as did going from +1/x2 to +2/x1). When the new system was implemented, the bonuses were removed, and the bonus became static, as others have said.

Around these parts, I think it's "Grammar 5th Column".

Actually, since we don't want to risk upsetting the European playerbase with any Nazi overtones, they're going to be replaced with the "Grammar Council" for the next 4 years, and then the "Grammar 5th Column" is going to slowly be phased back in.

I'm looking forward to the huge spawns of Grammar 5th Column and Grammar Council fighting it out on the streets of Steel Canyon in the event heralding the G5thC's return.

Competing to see which faction can diagram sentences faster. Doing a "capture the flag" type fight over copies of Strunk and White. Aggroing on any hero that uses leet-speak, then pausing to mention "aggroing" isn't a real world.

They'll be using adverbs violently, aggressively, and ruthlessly on each other.

And they'll be fighting, stabbing, and shooting with gerunds.

How can the heroes stop this?
Acting heroically, a dangling participle will defeat both factions.

For the original question, I had the impression that you got more XP for "+4/x1" than "0/x1" but no more for "0/x8" than "0/x1". I'm not somewhere I can check it, though.

You do which was stated earlier. The level of the mobs affects the end bonus received.. So if you have difficulty set at +4 you will get a larger end bonus that if you were sat at +0. Mob size and Fight or don't fight bosses does nothing to enhance that total.

You obviously make more XP during the mission if you are defeating Bosses instead of lieutenants because.. ........they award more! The same is true if you are at X8 rather than X0. End bonus will not be affected but you will make a lot more XP during the mission because the mob sizes will be greater .. Taking out 30 minons in a spot where at X0 there might have only be 10 means a lot more XP.

/e tiptoes quietly out of the thread hoping the Grammer Naz.. Err I mean Grammer Council.. Grammer 5Th Column? Oh heck I just hope I didn't make too may glaring errors. hehehe

No. As was stated earlier, you USED to. But you get the same mission completion bonus at any difficulty setting now.
