Who are these people...

I suspect there's a LOT more farmers than marketeers.

You can pop into the Brute forum, lift a cheap ss/fire farm build, make it and have it to 50 in a few days.

Then, it's slaughter time(which many people enjoy just for the sheer carnage) until you're burping with cash. No thinking or planning or speculating required.

And farm builds are not exactly difficult to make these days.

Do not underestimate the earning potential of vast amounts of carnage.

^This.

Not on the same scale, but on my Fire/FF controller that I took to Tier 3 in everything via incarnate trials, I pulled in 90ish million inf from salvage, recipes, and just plain inf drops.

That's over about a week running maybe 1-3 trials per evening. And to a lot of people, 90ish million in a week is a lot of inf generated. Ramp it up by an appropriate mass destruction machine build and yeah, well.....

I've been buying a lot of crafted IO's as of late. It saves the hassle of running and crafting. Heck there have been times that I find the crafted enhancement selling for less than the uncrafted recipe.

Maybe they do some flipping. It's got to be pretty boring just hanging out at the Market all day.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

I was one of those who buy rather than manufacture. Until I began to find what the IO are (and after spending several million on them) finally i understand that it is more "profitable" build than buy.

Now, I just have to understand what I'm making and how it works: P

(yep, im a newbie)

You may find some use in the mini-guides in my sig.

Or this more extensive guide which unfortunately got somewhat munged when the forum software changed.

Or the reference of doom .

TL;DR? you can go with cheap stuff and patience to get a considerable improvement in your power; you can then go with much, much, much more expensive stuff to practically turn yourself into a whole different character.

Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

I don't know who they are, but I hope they never leave. I've made billions crafting and selling IOs, typically at sale prices more than double what I listed for.

I buy them when the recipe is unavailable and the I/O is. If I level and want to slot a toon, I want to do it and get back to punching bad guys.

If you got 16 billion why should you care if you overpay by 10 million inf?

Answer: You don't.

It's the circle of Inf. Some of you pay me and I pay some of you.

^ This. Although I'll still buy recipes if it's decently cheaper, but I will overpay by quite a bit when buying to use vs buying to profit.
