Remove 'Participation' from ITrials
Oh and while we are here complaining that STUPID door at the hospital doesn't help matters either. I die.. I tp as fast as possible to the hospital so I can get back into action and then.. "DOOR WILL OPEN NEXT IN 20 SECONDS" So while I am standing there helplessly for almost half a minute the other members of the team are fighting. I am in TIME OUT... Basically its like saying "Oh well you were a bad girl. you died so you stand here and think about what you did for a while and then i will let you rejoin your playmates." I didn't like it when I saw it on beta and i like it even less now. |
Last night I honestly gave serious thought to just not leaving the damn hospital until all of the weapons were collected. I was sick of racking up debt only to get the ten-threads reward again, what is my motivation to do that?
I was teamed with friends so I left the hospital, but I consider this trial irretriveably broken. It needs some serious "looking at," and until it gets it I think I am not running it any more. The only thing I hope is that Keyes Island IS NOTHING LIKE THIS.
I never have these problems on BAF. Never. Not one time.
And yet with the rate I've been seeing from various players, I'd call the Uncommons common, and the common uncommon.
Also the fact that the devs admitted that the system had error which was weighting uncommons more before one or two patches ago. So yeah, I'd buy that the participation system is working 100% as intended. It may be intended for it to be random, but I DO NOT believe for a second that it's working 100% bug free. |
This is how I run my Trials. Everyone typically walks out with a Very Rare. Period. For the visually and conceptually impaired, this is a joke. |
On the subject at hand, there are AT's that are getting shafted because of this and I applaud TA for sticking his hand up and reporting a potentially unfair system. Given the nature of how MM's work, MM's could recieve a "load bias" for their reward tables which could even things up (not immediately mind you, but over an average of about 20 drops, no AT should really have a distinct advantage in what they recieve from equal effort) ~ Techbot, that sound like something in the way of a decent suggestion?

Cardinal forum sin here. I only read the title of the thread & am posting an opinion based on the title without having read anything else. Feel free to ignore it as a result. However, it might also be of interest or make sense. So...
I disagree. Somewhere else Arcanaville opined that she thought the devs want a participation metric tool. I believe she's right & I believe the metric was introduced in the trials as a step in the development of the technology. I believe the inclusion of the participation metric allows them to fine tune the criteria the tool uses to make decisions. I'm going to believe the tool's only decision right now is particpated enough or not.
You might fear the development of this technology, but I don't. I've played other games that I think tried to have this kind of tech & didn't get it right. So... player's that worked hard at earning a reward got rooked by someone swooping in "last minute" & "stealing" the good reward. I think the proper development of this technology would be a boon in preventing from such thing from happening & would allow the development team the ability to craft some awesome experiences for us.
Because of this, not only do I think it's a mistake to remove it, I think it's crucial that it not be removed.
