Heya Jasra, well the most popular channels are:
Sals badgehunters - Mainly for getting Taskforces and badges. Its default is Union, but from time to time defiant badgehunting takes place. Its the main badge channel for Union.
Union Taskforce - Getting together Taskforces and events.
Now both Sals and Union Taskforce do overlap each other from time to time, but not everyone in sals are in union taskforce and vice versa.
Third:
Union Chat - The channel to talk about everything else, ask question, joke around and generally getting to know other players.
If you roleplay then i'd advice

In here you can ask questions, task forces and mission are made (out of character and in character).

There is also Union Badgehunters, but its a shadow od its former self, although occasionally theres the odd person advertising on there that forgets to advertise on sals / taskforce.

There is also the "Mothership Raid Channel" though not really sure how active that is, but still worth mentioning I suppose.
For all bow users, Archers/Trick Arrowers, there is of course also the themed "Archers Channel".
But as allready said "Union Chat" and "sals badgehunters" go a long way.
On a side note: "Defiant Events" is the supreme channel for all Defiant related stuff.
Forge's XP Farming is a channel for those of you have need a quick boost, might need to ask for an invite tho which would be a tell sent to @mdcdesign since im currently having problems and can't login (telling me my firewall is blocking it (its off :S) or the servers are down)

I too am on a GMT+2 time zone, and play on US servers. I'm not planning to abandon my home server. But I will be making toons on (probably) Union as well. It'll be nice to have people from around the same time zone.

Yes apperantly the channels are getting filled up.
Sals and Union taskforce both have the similar problem.
So I hope for a quick solution from Red names and Devs.
What I hope is that players will either join Sals or Union Taskforce. Seems we have to do this for now, BUT those already members of both should post in both for taskforce/trials etc.
Until the timeout command gets activated (for name purge) that is one workaround we need to do.

UTF is showing as under 2200 as of this morning, 100% confirmed that people cant join it?

I'm not really fussed about the Task Force channels for the moment...since my only Union toon is still level 16. But once I start getting into the higher levels this will be a major problem for me. I hope this gets sorted out soon =/
