I have to agree with this.

Very simple plot, though... but I am unfamiliar with his sorce material, so I dunno what got involved in different comic storylines.

Also, HOW does it make any sense that the chick's last boyfriend happened to be HUGE and just as ripped as Thor so that he could conveniently and perfectly, fit into his clothes? Man her last dude musta been hot too!

Yes he's on the current roster, (New Avengers) but based on his orgin and he was never a member of shield makes me wonder how they would right him in with the rest of the roster....unless he was hired, (Heroes for hire).

I liked it, I do agree the 3d is not worth the extra money.

I did note hawkeye and Cage.

I do have the say the extra bit after the credits and crowd I was with prooved I was not a total geek. Guy is teh Croud "Oh Gawd why ... , why not so other powerfull articfact"

Left out names avoid spoiling it.

The most likely artifact would be the Cosmic Cube.

When I saw the rating of A-, I became concerned and didn't go. I heard it was okay. I'll wait for this to come on video.

Thor to me just seems like a story told over and over again. A young man with no commonsense, who is forced to see the world up close...but wants a girlfriend.

I can assure you that this movie was much more than a kid with little commonsense. The sheer grandeur of the mythology made it worth seeing alone, to me anyway. It felt less like a superhero story and more like a Mythology movie, juts a mythology movie set in modern times.

It is NOT the Marvel Universe Thor, and it is NOT the Ultimate Universe Thor. This story is a unique take on the character. Rooted in the same myths Stan and Jack drew from, it had in-jokes for all us comic geeks, and still threw in twists us comic geeks didn't see coming.

I grew up reading Thor and wondered how they would tell this story on the big screen but your comment about the Mythology line makes sense. But my next question is if it's not based on Marvel or Marvel Ultimate, how are they going to roll this guy into the Avenger's next year? I saw the previews for Capt A and it looks like he's doing a "variant" story too.

Still Marvel Universe, but more like the Earth X/Universe X/Paradise X version o' Thor and the Asgardians.

Aye, just like X-men first class. Magneto, Prof X, Mystique, Emma, Banshee, etc were never on a team mainstream comic circulation...still it looks intresting to see.

Loki made the movie for me. Tom's performance was awesome, and it was really refreshing to see Loki portrayed as a damaged and lost child who competes for his father's love and acceptance, rather than your average, cookie-cutter "I-am-going-to-destroy-the-world" supervillain.

I thought it was good with Ironman (1) being much better.

This movie is average I saw it last night. It might get better because they laid a nice foundation but this can wait for Redbox.

Ironman 1 had a WOW factor that this one didn't but I still very much enjoyed it...OH and Ironman 1 also had great tunes!

I agree. He was AWESOME. The rest of the performances were fine and the movie was very enjoyable, but Loki stole the show, as far as I am concerned. I've been somewhat lukewarm on The Avengers movie, thinking that they are biting of way more than they can chew. How can you possibly make any of those characters interesting in such short screen time? But, hearing that Hiddleston will be reprising his role as Loki and will be the main villain, gives me room to hope for great things.

Did you guys catch the sign at the end of the street in the town?: "Home of the Vikings"

I'll probably just wait for Thor to become available on Netflix. The last film I saw in a movie theater was Star Trek, back in May 2009. I just can't see paying $20 to watch a film in a movie theater and endure people yapping on their cell phone / adding their own commentary track to the film / playing games on their cell phone for two hours anymore.

Go to matinees two weeks after the movie releases. It's blessed.

I'm a teacher that often gets free tickets and snacks for my former students who manage the theater, but only at slow times. So, I get out of work at 2:30, I head to the theater, eat some free popcorn and watch in relative peace.

Really, this from the guy who goes lifetime sub on multiple mmo's [could be wrong on that but I seem to recall something to that effect]. =B

Our entertainment area is nice, but there's just something about going out to see an anticipated flick at the theater, plus sit high enough and I can make out with the fetching Mrs.

Amc does 6.00 movies in the morning. I do them :-)

I do it once a month and see all the movies. I carry a timetable with me and map the times and maximize my 6.00 bucks. I even use left over popcorn bags and soda cups for the free refills
