Skating Spidey
Prolly 'cause he's 27.
Really good actor, really bad casting.

Not just bad casting... bad idea. SKATEBOARDING IS ANTITHETICAL TO PETER PARKER!
Parker is a clumsy, social outcast, loser. He's smart and witty, but he can't back any of it with any sort of social graces or strength. He's not "quirky." He's not a "misunderstood rebel."
What is wrong with these people? How is this concept so hard to grasp?
Hmm, tend to agree with Durakken
Unless they are playing it for the social ineptitude, you know, he's trying to fit in and can't, he's not very balanced, tries to skateboard to show how he's actually pretty "cool" falls off the board and gets laughed at.
Until he gets his powers and does it again, this time like a long lost cousin of Tony Hawks
That could work. So far we've only seen an image, depends on the concept I guess.
We built this city on Rock and Roll!
Hollywood's preferred method of making someone a nerd or "loser" is to make the standard hip teen character and stick some glasses on him. Yeah, he still skateboards, wears trendy clothes and has a hip 'do; but check out those glasses.
So far, the only appeal I've seen coming from this movie are the actors/actresses listed in the supporting roles: Sally Field, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen and Dennis Leary.
Although all we're seeing are little snippets of photos, costumes etc, thusfar, I am not impressed with what I've seen from this movie thusfar. It seems to me that they are ruining the Peter Parker image/character.
This Spiderman movie did not need to happen; it did not need to be rebooted.

I wouldn't be sad at all if it failed.

This is the one they rushed into production to prevent losing the film rights isnt it?
Ya its showing. Dude seriously looks like a highschool teacher not a student. I am not holding my breath on this movie at all. I reserve the right to think differently once i see some trailers, but for now, everything i have seen looks terrible.

Spider-Man *can't* be a skateboarder because he's not supposed to be a villain!

Sigh.
Dunno why, but I find this pretty silly. Also... that's a teenaged Peter Parker? Looks about 30 to me. |
