Merit conversions

Hey guys, I just found out this morning that you can convert reward merits and inf into hero merits (or villain merits.)

I was just wondering what the charges in inf and reward merits is?

50 reward merits and 20 mil inf for 1 alignment merit every 20 hours

20mil inf!???????

I think I'll stick to tips!

Thanks for the info!

20 mil isnt that bad compared to the 400 mil thats required for a very rare incarnate component lol

(or if you buy the 4 rares needed for it, then 800 mil lol)

Get two Alignment Merits via tips. Create a LotG: +Rech IO. Craft and sell (or don't even craft, just sell), use profit to convert Reward Merits into Alignment Merits, rinse and repeat. 20 million will become chump change in no time.

Well someone may know something even better, but I can buy a Kinetic Combat Dam/End for 1 Hero Merit, and sell it for 90-100 million crafted, and use AE tickets for the salvage.

That is 50 regular merits and 20 million to get 90-100 million. That is 70 million profit in exchange for 50 regular merits. What can you buy with 50 merits that will sell for that.

Now if you are trying to earn an average recipe with hero merits, it might be cheaper to buy it, or just use tips, like you mention.

/this

honestly it will take you longer to get the 50 reward merits unless you do something like 1 sister p tf a day or a apex and tin mage lol

I remember the good old days when I thought 20 million was a huge horde of Influence.

400 mil?

If I was to pool ALL the inf, from ALL my characters. At a push, I'd maybe have about 180 million inf.

Im not going to be having any success with incarnates this year, am I?

you can always get lucky and get a very rare component reward table and not have to spend a dime, or have the patience to save 30 empyrean merits both options will not cost anything except excessive grinding of the trials and luck lol

The scary part is, I actually have a character about to hit 50.

So unless the trials and other incarnatey post 50 stuff pays MONSTER inf, it will probably realistically be a grind, a grind and some more grinding!

LOL

It is really not that bad. It seems intimidating, but if you run the 11 missions total over two days or more and get the hero merit, you can turn it into 80-100 million if you buy the right recipe. That is half what you have total now, so that is a great way to build up a little.

My Fort just dinged 50 during the week, and also finished her first Hero Tips run the same night, making me 50 merits. She had 19 million in her pocket. I sold 1 bit of salvage, did the conversion, made the roll, did some crafting of the results and now she had 120 million instead soley from crafting and selling those drops.

At first glance they weren't even that impressive as drops to me, no Luck of the Gambler or Regen/Recovery uniques but 2 were parts of sets with good set bonuses.

It depends on how impatient you are.

I'm working on Incarnates for 3 characters, between them I've got T4 Alpha on all and a total of 1 x Tier 2 ability, 10 x Tier 3 abilities and 1 x Tier 4 Ability, I've also got enough Very Rare components to make another 5 Tier 4 abilities once I get sufficient common components to make more T3s.

My total Influence spent was less than 25 million and that was solely impatience on my part (I spent a bit on iXP because I was impatient and wanted to unlock a couple of slots immediately instead of waiting until I ran another trial the next day, since trial XP is free and I was planning to run more trials the next day this was a complete waste of inf/threads).

At no point in the process was I ever tempted to spend the hundreds of millions influence necessary to manufacture rare or very rare components. Not because I cannot afford it (I can) but because I don't have sufficient uncommons and threads to do so even if I wanted to. I've gotten a decent number of Very Rare components through drops (about 10% of my drops so far) and by spreading out my Trial runs on different days to ensure I always get an Empyrean Merit I have plenty of them to turn into the extra rares that I need (and my thanks to the many people who put up with me compulsively changing characters between Trials). As such the bottleneck for me has always been common components (the uncommon to common downgrade helped a lot there).

The point I'm trying to make is that while there is an option to spend inf to progress in the Incarnate system it is not required and my experience is that it's not even a particularly useful method of advancement.

Last Tuesday I bought 4 pieces of Unbreakable Constraint, and when I was done I had 87M inf. I felt poor D:

Actually, the 400 million isn't the onerous part of that exchange. It's needing 4 rares to convert. As far as I can tell, rares don't drop 4x as often as very rares.

if you're looking for an easy method of reward merit acquisition I usually use the "The Instant Army" flashback mission. It rewards 21 merits and if you have invis (or stacked stealth + stealth IO or superspeed) it can be done in as little as 45-55 minutes (though i usually take an hour cause i get distracted easily and stop for food or to read something online)

doing that twice is almost 50 merits and you could either do it again and have left overs or something else that will reward 8 more merits to have enough. Either way you'll probably eat up at least 2 hours doing this but it can provide a number of reward merits relatively quickly without relying on a taskforce.
