Lore and the future?

Hi all,

I've done a quick search but couldn't find any discussion on this.
Basically, the devs have hinted that we may get new pets as part of the lore slot. At the moment there are 4 slots with different salvage to create each pet. If they introduce different pets, will there be new requirements to craft?
For example:
If I had the IDF pets crafted to level 4 on my lore slot, would I then need to run the trials again in order to gain new salvage to then switch my pet to something I do actually want, and may fit my theme better?

I just don't know whether to hold off and see what happens, or just slot a pet up that has absolutely nothing to do with my character.

Any thoughts?

It is likely in my opinion that you would have to gain new salvage and craft the new pet again. I don't have any more information than you do and this is just a guess, it just seems to make sense given the constraints of the incarnate slot system.

That said, if you already acquired enough salvage for your T4 Lore slot in the short period of time since I20 was released, you might have excess salvage by the time hypothetical new Lore pets would come out (which would be months away at best, I suppose), unless you strongly dislike the trials and plan never to run them again once you have what you wanted.

Yeah, new additions to the Incarnate system will probably require new salvage/components. This is to prevent (or hinder) people stockpiling huge amounts of the components and getting all the abilities on the first day.

Which is understandable, except it can get little silly because we'll end up with more and more different types of incarnate components and currencies. We've already got the TF salvage, shards, threads, trial salvage, Astral and Empyrean merits.

If they do get additional lore I would like to see the ability to trade in your current tier 3 or 4 plus maybe some A merits or E merits to a tier 3 or 4 of a different type, still in the lore category. Currently I do kinda feel forced to take pets I don't want, just for the sake of the level shift on the trials and would be nice if we were able to just exchange them for a lesser cost than having to start over for something you want.

Do I expect it to happen? No, just sayin it would be nice.

This is more or less why I'm only T3ing Lores on my characters for whom none of the pets are an excitingly perfect fit (which certainly applies to everyone I've started taking through the Incarnate system thus far.) Comparatively speaking T3 is not a lot of work stacked up against a T4, and I wouldn't really be too miffed to have to make another.

Only reason I really botherd to hit T4 on my Main was... well hes a Praetor from Praetoria, whos a Loyalist agest what Cole is trying to do. So this toon is probley 1 of only a handful of Toons in the game that the Lore pets make sense on.

I dont understand why we can't "swap" the icon palt and just keep the stats of the pets the same.

Clockwork.... Choose Praetorian or Normal Clockwork (Like Clockwork king stuff)

IDF.... Choose IDF or PPD (from Primal Earth. K-Suits etc hello!!)

Warworks.... Choose Warworks or Vanguard Robots

Seers.... Choose Seers or PPD seers (forget thier names)

Thats a pretty simple selection and would make EVERYONE a lot happier.

I don't know how much sense it would make for a villain to be running around with PPD pets

I'll be honest I am betting the Devs are sitting in a room somewhere saying .. "Oh My God what were we thinking saying we'd add more pets? From the posts we've seen 100,000 players want 100,000 different pet options!"

I can't imagine what they will finally decide on.. I suggested a while back on a similar thread they give us a Doppleganger option. So instead of Seers or Warworks, PPD or Arachnos we'd get the ability to duplicate ourselves with the same attack/buff options the current pets provide. Yeah I know that means thousands of individual pets but they already have missions where we face off against our clone so how hard would it be to apply that same code to make our Lore pets rez looking just like us?

Been looking around for a post regarding this. Yes I agree, none of the lore summon pets fit any of my character's themes either. Pretty much refused to craft any lore as of yet in the hopes they will add some variation.

I don't really understand how repeatedly attacking and destroying hordes of praetorian npc's would grant you the ability to summon ... praetorian npc's.

Besides just how similar in theme Warworks IDF and Clockwork all appear, too.

How hard would it be to just add an option in the tailor UI to customize your summons just like the other incarnates color tinting? Swap your praetorian skins for Arachnos, Longbow, PPD, even Demons or Circle of Thorns ghosts?

We have so many archetype-set themes in game, rich themes like mutation, science, tech, magic, stealth, alien, ancient, medieval, occult, primal ... why are the super-powerfull Incarnates forced to all summon only praetorian tech-ey stuff?

Every time the devs release new content I would assume they hope you'll spend a certain amount of time on it. I would assume any new pets would require you to start from scratch, but I doubt there will be new, unique salvage for them.
