Seems to me all the arguing over whether or not MM pets perform well or under par is being balanced on bots and thugs. I agree that MM's bear some looking over at the endgame stage, but also remember the different type of MM pet summons are VERY VERY different from one another.
The general consensus is that bot/thug outperform the other types, and this is mainly because they stay at range. This is an entirely seperate issue than overall MM performance in trials.
My main uses necro summons, and I feel the damage shortage in the trials as well as the overall squishines of our pets. Yes, destiny and interface helps out with this to some degree, but I definatly feel like MM's are outperformed by other archetypes in the endgame, especially in the support regard.
All my holds, disorients and fears dont count for squat when the mob packs are being AoE / direct damaged down too quickly for them to be any use, and when the AV's roll out our pets' damage is paltry when they are anywhere from 7 to 4 levels lower. -
Whatever the devs say about everyone that qualifies for any component has the chance for any rarity of drop, my MM runs about 10 trials a day since i20 launch, sometimes more (had a week off from work) and has recieved 2 rares to date, and ALL common uncommon.
I am closing in on two tier 3's crafted in EVERY incarnate ability but lore (boycotting for more varied summon skins) waiting for VR drops / empyreans. Thats going to be 18 different incarnate enhancements I've made just with common/uncommon drops WITH crafting 4 of the 6 rares out of yet more uncommons with a hefty influence sink as well.
There remains the possibility that I'm simply incredibly unlucky. But I've spoken with other MM's on these trials, most of them have had the same results. -
Been looking around for a post regarding this. Yes I agree, none of the lore summon pets fit any of my character's themes either. Pretty much refused to craft any lore as of yet in the hopes they will add some variation.
I don't really understand how repeatedly attacking and destroying hordes of praetorian npc's would grant you the ability to summon ... praetorian npc's.
Besides just how similar in theme Warworks IDF and Clockwork all appear, too.
How hard would it be to just add an option in the tailor UI to customize your summons just like the other incarnates color tinting? Swap your praetorian skins for Arachnos, Longbow, PPD, even Demons or Circle of Thorns ghosts?
We have so many archetype-set themes in game, rich themes like mutation, science, tech, magic, stealth, alien, ancient, medieval, occult, primal ... why are the super-powerfull Incarnates forced to all summon only praetorian tech-ey stuff? -
This is totally off track. I doubt anyone but the poeple forum-jousting are even reading this anymore. Venture is just baiting and antagonizing the Collecter guys with OCD, and they are bickering back. I was hoping to see some sort of redname response to the opinions of the forumites, but 40 pages of personal arguments isnt going to garner any official response. Cut it out guys! Constructivityness!

I know whenever someone posts a negative view of something it just appears like complaining, but here's my 2 cents.
While I like the addition of new ideas and new content to any game, this issue just strikes me as, well, "meh."
There wasnt some movement of people and posts requesting or pining for some sort of offline advancement system, no months or -years- of waiting for it be released, nothing, while there -are- said flocks of people asking for/suggesting/pining for other things. I also realize some of the things people are clamoring for; bug fixes, power streamlining, blue side epic archetype love are being addressed, I cant help but feel a bit cheated that one of the major focuses on our bi-yearly issues was something no-one wanted, and from what I've read about it, not everyone will agree with.
I also cant help but feel cheated that the base-oriented changes were scrapped, no new base content, no (and now on this I'm not 100% on) fixes to base raiding, nothing. They have said they WERE working on a base overhaul, but in the end it sucked so they scrapped it, perhaps it wouldnt have flopped if all the manpower devoted to this dayjobs project had been free to help.
And on top of all of that, months at a time spent OFFLINE to gain rewards from this system? A system based on PAYING to NOT play the game? I realize this is mostly a boon to players with multiple alts, so when you do go to pick up your alt he has some newfangled stuff that lasts for...10 minutes to 2 hours? I know your not REQUIRED to be log off to gain these benefits, but thats saying basically heres a half year of work that your not REQUIRED to interact with, but if you want to you need to pay us to not play the game. Bleh.
Sorry for the lengthy post, but I couldnt help but express the sour feeling I get from every single facet and aspect of this Issue, not to mention the base salvage total revamp feature that, again, NO ONE ASKED FOR.
Thank you.
