How many people knew that the subject line was about? In case it isn't as obvious as I'd hoped, I'm talking about the sound FX for Ion Judgement.

I mean this is (quite literally) a god-like AOE, that can wipe out multiple 8-man spawns, it requires considerable investment to get up to the higher levels...

And it goes "Poit!"?

We have a number of passable thunder and lightening crack sounds, and there are many more out there. Why does the "daddy" of all electric attack make the most comical and weedy of sounds?

I don't know the answer to your question; I'm working on getting my first Ion judgement as we speak. But I do know that this is the most awesome name for a thread, or, for that matter, anything short of "Cute and Fuzzy Cockfighting Seizure Monsters."

I think I'm thinking about what you're thinking about Serva, but I'm not sure a waffle hat would look good with plaid boots.

Agreed with OP. The sound fx for Ion is pretty underwhelming. I was expecting a loud thundering noise or more intimidating zapping/sizzling noise. Oh well.

I always play with my sound off (fx and music in the game suck ***) but im gonna have to take a look at this.

Well, we could have this:

"I SEE THY FOLLY, O THOU MY FOES! NOW BEHOLD...MY JUDGMENT!"

Given the character animation, I expect my Void Judgment to sound like WRYYYYYYYYY

Serva, I completely agree. Thunderous Blast, Thunder Strike, Lightning Rod, and even Short Circuit all outweigh Ion Judgment in the SFX department. That little "zap" sound should be reserved for the Praetorian Clockwork Mender electrical attacks (though I think they may be slightly different).

Void sounds like a black hole mixed with a Nova-style attack, Pyronic is an explosion, and Cryonic sounds like a blizzard is blowing icicles through a solid object. Ion needs some THUNDER!
