Is Issue 20 the most hyped issue ever?
Apparently the only Kroger chain near me is a solitary Quik Stop.
Branching Paragon Police Department Epic Archetype, please!

You can't please everyone, so lets concentrate on me.
Um I agree with Dark and BrandX. So you base the merits of an issue solely on being able to waste more time in the costume editor? or on doing yet another respec on your character?
We are getting two new 50+ Trials, two more Task Forces. opening up several new incarnate slots ..NOT one but as many as three or four from what I understand along with the new League sign up system. But it seems like from your post you are disappointed because we didn't get new opportunities to recolor powers or change their animations. To each his or her own but seriously I'd rather have new ways to PLAY the game than new ways to play Barbie with my character... and this from a woman who changed her look so often members of my own SG used to tease me about it. Oh and as for THE MOST HYPED ISSUE.. were you around when everyone was desperately waiting for SUPER BASES to come on line? You want hype... for months when you logged on the first question anyone asked was "Did it go live yet?" The player base themselves created a sense of urgency like I really haven't seen since. I'm sure all those things you are looking for are being developed and will wind up in game eventually.. Possible even I an issue 20.5 or as part of 21. Some will undoubtably be SOLD to us a Packs. |
Generally, I find that "over hyped" gets tossed at Topic X by detracters who resent that everyone talking about Topic X.
That said, my eyes start glazing over like something from Krispy Kreme when I try and read threads about i20. Please note this is coming from a player who:
A) rarely plays a toon all the way to 50
B) almost never plays them after 50
c) is unlikley to cheange either A or B
So yes, I'll agree that i20 is over-hyped (heh), as everyone seems to be going on and on, round and round about it and I don't really care much about this Topic X.
Let me clarify that I think adding an end game was needed for the game's ability to open up options. In addition, it would take some issues to flesh out the foundation of it. But if it ties up the art/animation team for 1-2 more issues beyond issue 20, then it starts to overwhelm the rest of the game.
Incarnate content is a small segment of the game, and yet the devs are spending their time on it as if it is the core of the game. Such perception, even if untrue, is starting to build with some long time players.
There is no way currently to tell if Incarnate content is a success or a failure. But I can't say it is a resounding success if staples of past issues (eg costume pieces) are left in the dust.
I have become a more casual player over the past year or so and no, I didn't not notice any hype regarding I20. It came without fanfare from my point of view. And it also comes as not much to sink my teeth into as a casual player not looking for massive raids and massive groups of players needing organization etc. I'm the pick up for an hour or so and leave kind of player and there is simply nothing here for me. I'll be sticking around though to see what they come up with for Issue 21. Hopefully there will be something in it for us more casual players.
The Animal Pack is a lot of fun though. I love making new characters with bird nad cat and wolf heads To me the Animal Pack outdoes issue 20. I like to pretend it is issue 20 and that Issue 2 is the bonus stuff I don't have to pay any heed to
It is all a matter of perspective I suppose.
As far as I recall, all the generic brands simply have "Fred Meyer's" stamped on them.
"I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show,
A fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes."
