Today on Massively, Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney offers an exclusive look into the creative design process involved in creating the Incarnate abilities. Read how these awesome powers (coming in Issue 20!) went from concept to implementation. Head over to Massively and check out the dev diary, "Designing the expanded Incarnate trees for City of Heroes."

Quite a good read, nice to hear design descisions that went into them and about the naming choices for the powers. I notice the Lore slot wasn't mentioned though

Always remember, we were Heroes.

NERD!

... I am aware of the hypocrisy of calling someone that when I'm posting on a message board for a super hero video game. Shush!

Holy unrealistic Incarnate salvage piles.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Did Paragon already stop doing the monthly state of game newsletter to the community? Not that there was much substance in it but did it only go Jan and Feb? Maybe I missed the post...?

Yeah not a word on the Lore slot, not even "We had very specific ideas about this slot to to backstory contraints that have yet to be revealed"

There is nothing he could have said about the Lore slot which would not have placated those who hate it and it would have just been fodder to be picked apart by every rhetorical device possible over the course of twelve separate threads... to add to the current thirty threads about it.

I wouldn't read anything into them not mentioning the Lore slot here. This article was really about the Interface slot, so it didn't say much about Destiny or Judgement, either. He even says at the end of the article:
Quote:
As we continue toward launch, I'll provide you more information about the other Incarnate Powers you'll see in Issue 20.
Now don't get me wrong: I'm not defending the Lore slot here (like a lot of folks, I think the lack of diversity for Lore Pets is pretty sad and limiting). But I don't think we should expect much info on the Lore slot in an article about the Interface slot.

My first thought was Sweeney Todd. Then that the incarnate slots like those meat pies probably consist of people or maybe that that Unreal Engine does when I read that maybe that is why it is so UNREAL.
