Players A and B, D, E, F, X and Z are running a large scale plot, they have occasional other players dropping in and out of it.
Player C plays a character capable of warp speed interstellar flight, the ability to sense trouble over the entire globe and the ability to navigate to anywhere on the globe with a second. Player C does not want to be involved, Player C also refuses to come up with an IC reason for not getting involved, instead Player C demands that the plot should be changed since their Pretendy Fun Time character is so great and powerful that nothing could IC prevent them from being involved in the plot, and they don't want to be involved OOC.
Should players A-Z make all their plots suitable to Player C's taste, or should Player C perhaps be more considerate to everyone else and tone down their Captain Everywhere character?
Which would be fairer?

You create a plot where you decide to blow up King's Row. One of my mains lives there and thinks of it as her territory. You have just made it impossible for my character to ignore your plot. My character is a street hero, about as overpowered as a wet flannel.
Now, if the devs ever get to blowing up King's, then I have to deal with it. If you do, I don't, because it's quite obviously not blown up.

we have this debate every so often , and it comes down to who can be bothered to post the most, that holds the day.
the problem everyone wants something different, this is where the whole unionverse, we all live in the same one, issue hits problems.

is a fine fair sounding statement .. but it means one person now controls what can or can not happen plot wise in that zone.

given the number of players this would block the use of all game zones in the CoXverse. As well as the list of RP locations now being posted in the RP thread, do we have to have a No plots here with out perosn X's ok list as well ?
Either we are helpfully and are willing to assist and adapt to each others wants, or we need to accept that we are not all in the same unionverse and be happy and stick to our own little RP circle. Some like big grand wide reaching events, and are willing to make the effort to let anyone who wants to get involved, if you say no you cant to them are you willing for them to say no to one of your small scale plots when you want to do something in any given zone or location ? Do we have to pre post any plot for vetting ?
Now i know for a fact that plots have occured at GG , in pok D, and in at least two SG that are at odds with each other in terms of events , lore , zone effects etc, but no one moaned or said "no you cant do that" because they all we done withing their own circle of characters who have almost zero chance of meeting in game, and because those circles of players never meet or talk to each other.
so can we not just be happy in our own circles of choice and get on with the point of the game, having fun....Please

Your example would be very bad for RP. But it's not what happens, it's not what is going to happen and it's never happened before that I can recall. Let's stop pretending it's endemic. We could get back to RP if people would just stop pretending that saying "No" to something in RP is the very thing that's killing RP and making out with its corpse.

Anyway... Started a trial account to run around Union a bit. Of course, as it's a trial account, I'm restricted to Praetoria, can't go above level 14, can't join the Union Roleplayers global channel, or talk to anyone outside of Team, Help and Local. Essentially, I can just run around and hope to chance upon some RP. It's quite exciting.
In an attempt to mitigate any damage that may have been done: The forums sometimes become a place where a few of Union's "vocal personalities" hash out age-old arguments. It's a place where we tend to discuss RP theory, and dscuss plots, which makes it a melting pot.
In-game, these arguments do NOT tend to manifest, because the individuals involved (and I may well be one of them) are usually WAY too busy actually RPing and having fun.
Viseur, lemme know when you're likely to be online in Praetoria. I'll see what I can do about providing some entertainment, and maybe dragging a few other willing souls along for some fun and frolics.
