Plant Control and Fly

IIRC, I once read that Plant Control and the Fly travel power do not mix well. However, I do not recall as to why. Is there any particular reason why a Plant Control Controller or Plant Control Dominator should not take nor use the Fly travel power?

Perhaps, you're thinking of flying enemies? There are a few powers in Plant, such as the single target immobilize, that require the enemy to be grounded.

both immobs require the target to be grounded, but the aoe one can hit flying baddies if your target baddy is grounded

I'd say the opposite; Air Superiority + Fly is a useful combination for a Plant/, since it lets you reach fliers and knock them down into your groundbound powers.

No one wants to look like a fool with their plants on the ground.

Lol. That's probably what I was thinking of, thanks. I just recalled reading somewhere "Plant Control" and "needs to be on the ground," but I couldn't remember the specifics. Thanks.

also, creepers have to be summoned with the reticle on the ground (you can be in the air though)

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Or a Plant/TA and use Entangling Arrow.

I have both, and yes they are great.

Or if you are a Dom throw a Thorn at them and knock em down. Thats what Impale was designed for. Plus, you get cute spikes!

If not, Storm and TA all have early powers, only TA actually will help you build mags of hold with entangle arrow for your other plant hold.

Flying is great, and Air Superiority can bring down flying things, and if they are held can do respectable damage as well.

Hurl Boulder from Earth Assualt will knock a baddy out of the air, you have to be on the ground to use Hurl Boulder though.

2nd dom I made was a Plant/thorns, but I couldn't deal with the redraw of the thorns. I'm thinking of making a Plant/fire/ice and having it be the evil version of my Plant/storm/fire.

I like thorns. It's fun offering hugs and then pressing an attack button.

Sure it was slow, but the toxic damage was good. I didn't stick with it long though.

Plant is a great set though. Seeds of confusion = pure awesome. It also has some skippable powers in it which allow for more fleshing out. I find this really valuable with a Dom like toon. But also I could see the benefit of a controller with a hefty decondary, like storm where you want many of the end powers. Actually Plant/Storm Endgame must be powerful because of the pure versatility of it.
