This seems a bit excessive.
Ran across this precise spawn in three missions in the RWZ tonight. (Four if I wanted to be picky - two people had the same mission, slightly different settings - one plus level, one even con. Showed up in both.)
Yes. Eight fake nemesis. Yes, that's one single spawn. (Plus a warhulk and another fake in the *next* spawn.) Oh, you know that mission where you try to save the Nemesis defector? The very squishy little ranged aggro monkey? Yeah. That was one of them. Needless to say, that didn't go very well. I don't think I've ever seen spawns of fakes like these. Two? Sure. Fake and Warhulk? No problem. A spawn full of fakes? You have no *idea* how fun that is. First time we saw it - team wipe. Didn't help that they bubbled each other. Second time - the escort mission - we planned on my brute taunting and running to let the others get past. Yeah. Didn't work. NPC decided he wanted to solo the spawn. Third time wasn't bad - two brutes, a dom and defenders make it a bit easier to separate them (especially when you have room to move.) It was actually rather nice working out a plan of attack that *worked* (and quickly) against them. Still, this is an odd spawn, especially to see several times over (and we've run these missions many times, half to full team, and haven't seen this before.) Wondering if anyone else is seeing anything similar. |

That. Is. AWESOME.
Reminds me of the time we had a team of 8 running Raid the Snake Temple from Operative Grillo. Set at +4. And we cracked open all of the eggs, rather than using the Snake-B-Gone. I'm pretty sure we ended up with over 30 lv54 bosses together in a small room with a lv54 AV. Fun. As. Hell.

I actually wish all boss spawns had a standard chance to happen on certain team sizes/difficulty settings.
That must be the most important box in the multiverse.

Minutes from the Monthly Fake Nemesis Support Group Meeting as recorded by FNSG Secretary Fake Nemesis 4329.
Meeting called to order by Group President 2133 on March 6th, 2011 at 1700 hours, 32 minutes, 29.44285 seconds.
Floor recognized FN 8421 who raised (again) the complaint of going through life being called a "Fake" Nemesis. General discussion about inability to be taken seriously, bad jokes and comparisons to other "Fake" things (zircons and When Harry Met Sally seem to be the most popular references currently.) On going emotional trauma was given as a reason to bring the issue to Lord Nemesis (again) as a reason to instate a new job title.
8421 was assigned the task of drafting a letter to Lord Nemesis. Vote passed unanimously, subject tabled.
Floor recognized FN 9933 who suggested the aforementioned letter include an offiical request that Lord Nemesis no longer refer to the FN legions as his "little sub-plots." Motion passed, 7 to 1 with 8421 (who claims he actually kind of likes the nick-name) voting nay.
No further new business to discuss, Floor was about to call FN 7331 to reveal the results of his investigation into which would be the best metal polish currently available on the market for personal grooming, when a group of heroes attacked.
Group President 2133 grabbed the box and shouted "I'll save the punch and pie! The rest of you hold them off!" and things degenerated from there.
My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw

Get a few Plant and Mind Controllers with some AoE Confusion action and farm that puppy for everyone else!
Or are Fakes immune to Confusion?

When I got this exact spawn, was on RWZ mish from Levantera I believe it was the Rescue Arnold Decker, set to x8 +4 with all the bells and whistles.
I took one look, exited, autocompleted the mission. Ice Blaster no handle good.
Wondering if anyone else is seeing anything similar. |

Like the times we see maps spawned with nothing but Lieutenants... that's a bug. It may be a one-time bug, a bugged-map bug, or a patch-that-causes-that-spawn-in-multiple-places bug.

I saw that particular spawn shortly after the RWZ went live - one of my splasher screens is a picture that was snapped of my main in the middle of leaping into that spawn.
So, I'll go with working as intended.

I always thought that was meant to happen on the mission where you rescue the defector. Sort of a "NO ONE ESCAPES NEMESIS" statement made, with the intent that the mission gets failed. Granted, I think the whole concept of missions where you're meant to fail is pretty horrible, so i do sneaky things on it, but that's neither here nor there.
Never seen it anywhere else, but I wouldn't complain if I did. 8 Fake Nemeses are a better fight than 8 Nemesis Lieutenants!
I've seen such spawns in four places, all RWZ missions:
1) The "Rescue Nemesis Defector" mission, guarding the defector
2) The "Rescue Nemesis Defector," forming the ambush that spawns as you lead him out
3) The mission featuring General "Brawl Myself To Death" Aarons, in the large room of the cave. This may have been multiple spawns working together, however, rather than an actual Incoming Fake Nemesis Horde.
4) The mission and location shown in the screenshot in this thread.
I think it's working as intended, but it's very, very challenging for any character running an "ordinary" (no defense softcap, no Incarnate boosts, etc.) build. In the mission depicted here, I remember my team finally succeeding by pulling the spawn repeatedly through a narrow doorway into a heap of Trip Mines. Even so, it required multiple retreats by the team, several of which turned into team wipes as people couldn't run away fast enough to break the aggro.
This, more than anything else, convinces me that non-TF missions are (or at least were at the time) tested with solo characters or small teams on the default difficulty. I suppose the attitude is, "If you raise it, it's on your head," which doesn't seem too unreasonable. It does, however, cause sudden difficulty "jumps" when you run into something like this.
As an aside, I tried to do something like this challenge in an AE arc, where an unarmored Elite Boss was protected by the Grant Cover of a mob of shield-using Lieutenants. Unfortunately, AE enemies don't seem to use Grant Cover. Ah, well ...
