Why the 2x Licence accpetance
The second one is preparation. CoX is migrating to the NCSoft launcher at which point we will no longer have to click through the one int he launcher. So once you switch to the launcher you will be back to clicking through it once but it will be in a different position.
Does anyone ever read those things? I never do. For all I know NCSoft is now entitled to claim my first born and my immortal soul.

So what have change that is so DAMN important that I have to say I accept it twice now to play the game? ( AS IF THAT WOULD MAKE ME READ IT ). |

Yesterday after I downloaded the patch had to agree to a new thingamagig which mentioned Ncoin, I believe these were used in the game EXteel to buy in game items.
Since Exteel is no more I was wondering will Ncoins be used in City of heroes in the future? anyone have any word on this in general? |
Specifically these posts:

I like how on the Mac at least, the two licenses are different (from different dates).

If you install the new launcher, you don't have to accept the EULA when you run it, just when you sign into the game.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)

In addition, the new launcher has a menu item that allows you to create a desktop shortcut that allows you to directly launch the game without having to click PLAY. You still have to click the button in-game for the terms of service, but it's one less button click than the old launcher!

You can do this with the current launcher, too. Just takes a bit of finagling with your shortcut. Cuts out a lot of time, so I only launch the updater when I actually need to update something.

The new Launcher will also allow you to run multiple instances of the game with nothing more than clicking a check box.
I read them.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
You wanna know why? Because god saw what you did with your Star Wars bedsheets, and is punishing everyone else for it!

ALWAYS read what you're signing at least once, so you at least have some sort of vague idea of what you just signed.
Sorry, signing anything without reading it is just dumb. Since you didn't read it, for all you know NCSoft might own your computer and any other computer you have played the game on. (they don't, but you wouldn't know it if they did)

Yes and no. Agree that you should read whatever you sign. However, there are laws against "Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices" and "Unconcionable contracts" with terms that would normally be considered outragious being burried in lots of legal mumbo-jumbo.

These are mainly protections for consumers. Business people are usually on their own -- which keeps lawyers busy
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

While I agree, and the legaility of click over sign make it even more tenous, people who don't read anything they click often miss stuff written in plain English.

On a computer they tend to end up with a lot of toolbars with that attitude.

I think reading about a court refusing to enforce a EULA agreement for the exact same reason described above, we simply "do not read it" we just click thru it. I believe the court cited that it did not meet standard, such as a court summons taped to a door not meeting standard as to insures that the person summoned actually and physically received and acknowledged recept.
I can't remember if a higher court reversed the lower court over it, but I thought at the time to be a very interesting legal article.

Always read the EULA, it could be worth money.
