I was a big fan of the original limit series collections. I have a Venom Lethal Protector gold #1 even. Not sure I like the idea of a new host, but I will give it a try.

I don't see this new series lasting at all, unless they decide to have rotating hosts for the symbiote which would also get stale fast.
Nah, I suspect that eventually somehow, someway, the symbiote and Brock will merge again.
Just wish they'd kill that symbiote already.

I like the concept.
They took an established Spiderman character who wants to do good for the world an gave him something that enables him to do it. The story-arc seems to have a short-term run as its goal so it won't get bogged down with silly storyline just to keep it existing and I happen to like the fact that someone other than Captain America took up being a hero to serve his country.
Yeah but VENOM??? Dude its so annoying, the last good Venom related anything was that 18 issue run they did where the cloned suit was on the loose. I think it was the last real Brock arc. It was soooo good.

It even make sense since the symbiote doesn't really concern itself with abstract concepts and motivations beyond finding a host.
Still, i've never found Venom that interesting personally. He's always seemed to be a sort of exaggerated adolescent "ooh, i'm so scary looking and shocking to grown-ups" power fantasy in its core concept and (especially) appearance even though i do think Marvel has done some good stories about the consequences and implications of that mindset.
Where Marvel takes Venom from here could be interesting.

I just want some big scary event where Brock is the only one with enough experience to use the suit to take out some big scary threat that nobody else has been able to do so....... and for Gods sake make it a permanent bond FOR REAL this time.
