Question about DP
So i have a DP/Dark Corruptor that is pretty strong. Question is, which are the best powers to get, and which are the worthless ones?

On the Dual Pistols side, they're all worth getting - except maybe Empty Clips with its 2.5s activation time for the same damage as other Blaster cones half its time.
Yeah i have a lvl 11 DP on another server and then switched to a high populated one and got this one to 12. Empty Clips is useless to me. I 6 slotted the Miasma drain spell thing(Forgot name) with 3 Acc and 3 Healing. But what are good power pools for a corruptor? And is DP even any good at pvp?

I highly recommend you skip empty clips, but make sure to try it first on a low level character before giving up on it.
I personally don't like low tier, long activating attacks with the exception being shadow maul (very controversial lol).
Each person's likes/dislikes vary, so you will have to try it out yourself.
When taking into account the faster recharge and lower endurance cost, Empty clips is pretty competitive with Bullet rain, especially when you're not on a huge team and therefore guaranteed to get target capped. YMMV.
As you are /DM, you can safely skip Suppressive Fire since you will have more than enough mitigation.
I wouldn't dismiss EC so readily, as it will help to push up your AoE damage. I find the combo of BR and HoB to not be enough for my tastes, due to the long timer on HoB.
If you are planning on having a healthy amount of global recharge for your late game build, then I would also suggest you do what I did and drop ES for PR for your ST chain. You give up a slight amount of damage in return for the potential to hit up to 3 targets and a slightly faster cast time. Though that said you will probably just want to spam Pistols and Dual Wield as much as you can.

On my DP, I skipped Suppressive fire and the tier 1 power. Why? My corr is dp/kin. If I want to be safe, I will slap a siphon speed on target and run out of range. Sure, not as reliable as a mezz, but it does offer some safety. Besides, if I don't know how reliable the stun is, but it isn't as sure fire as a troller or dom that is probably on team anyway. I skipped the t1 just because I normally do.
Words to the wise aren't necessary- it's the stupid ones that need them.
"You're right...I forgot...being constantly at or the near the damage cap is a big turn off. Definitely not worth it."

The stun from suppressive fire is as good/bad as any blast primary control. It's a 100% chance of a Mag 3 stun/hold, depending on which ammo you're currently using. Really, I find them to be a waste of time. They do negligible damage, need to be stacked on another hold/stun from your secondary to hold bosses. Everyone else, you're better off just killing them.
Honestly, if you want to turn everyone into a pinata, just play a Dominator/Controller.
I ran RSF yesterday with a player running a Dark DP. I don't know if he was a corruptor or defender. He had some decent defenses, might have been defense capped and I have to say had a pretty cool looking toon as well. Shadow cult or something like that was his name.
Might not be the big DPS but seemed effective to me.

Empty clips is useful on teams for a cone application of the -RES proc from Achilles Heel.
DP/Dark can soft-cap S/L/E/N with headroom, and pack in enough recharge to keep HOB up pretty quick. And to chain Pistols-DW-Pistols-Exec, or Pistols-DW-Exec, which is OK dps.
Plan on running Fire Ammo all the time and using your Dark powers to deliver control. That is all.
Why all the hate for Empty Clips, its nice, like, pop Build Up, use Bullet Rain and Empty Clips and there dead. Now since i have Hail of Bullets now, its BU + HoB - Dead, i find that empty clips is handy while your waiting for other powers to recharge.

A bit off topic, but for those interested, we run a dual pistols super team on Freedom on Thursdays, and we can always use more members. Click the link in my sig to go to the thread. If you want to roll a new toon to join us, I would be happy to PL you a bit to catch you up with the team.

As far as the OP goes...
Empty Clips and Suppressive Fire are, generally speaking, the two most commonly skipped powers. There was a good point made about putting the Achilles Heel Proc into EC, but if you're dark you already have decent -RES in Tar Patch (which you should get if you're wondering). IMO, I find that Bullet Rain > Empty Clips just because of the larger target area, and if you need room in your build for other powers, EC is just something that doesn't make the cut. It can be useful at lower levels, but it would be something I respec'd out of.
Suppressive Fire? Well, I find it to be a situational utility power. You won't likely be able to stack it easily to hold a boss, but if you were looking to do that you shouldn't be playing a corruptor anyway. SF is basically my "breather" power to take someone out of the fight that I don't want to deal with immediately. It won't take them out long, but it might just be enough to put you in a better position than you were before you used it. Still, it can be skipped, it's not a power that is required to make the set operational.

Okay, yeah, that's true, I was thinking of stacking with itself.

Why? There's a number of corruptor combos that can mezz bosses. |
You're going to have Fearsome Stare and Darkest Night slotted up for To-Hit debuff anyway. Slotting Petrifying Gaze and Suppressive Fire just to take away the last 6% of threat that a boss presents is just kind of a waste, in my opinion. There's better places to burn those slots.
Why bother when you can just debuff them into irrelevance anyway? If you're soloing your /Dark, you're not likely to be meeting double boss pulls solo, in which case just throw out Fearsome Stare, Darkest Night and Twilight Grasp to heal back any health you lost from the alpha. The boss is basically reduced to 6% of his normal damage, and if they get a lucky mezz off, you pop a break free.

That doesn't necessarily negate my point. Hey, if you want to take the holds because you've got an awesome set to drop in them for the bonuses, enjoy. Just don't bother to pretend they're good powers, they're not.
