Human Target Season Finale
Pretty much agree with you. I think they wanted some female characters to draw more people in, but I didn't really care for either of them, personally. Ilsa in particular can die a slow death and I wouldn't care much.
And yeah, I kept waiting for Guerrero to shoot Ames.

I'm old so I actually do think Indira Varma is sexy. By having her around it forced the writers to do something other "damsel in distress/love interest of the week". It also opened up the series to new and exotic locations in Vancouver as new and exotic locations in the world.
Ames was for the younger crowd. She wasn't in every week and when she was she was in her skivvies and oiled down, in a bikini, in a sexy dress, etc. As for her interaction with Guerrero, I think he thinks of her as a little sister. An annoying sister who keeps getting in his stuff but a sister nevertheless.
I would have preferred what was implied during the first season, that the people he had saved would be helpful like the hacker girl but having someone rich and powerful as your benefactor and they are the one with the contacts makes it a bit more believable.
As for the episode, don't try to squeeze Guerrero. And I like his half a dozen boxes of files Vs the others single thin folders.

I loved the fact Guerrero's file was two handtrucks worth of boxes.
The second season isn't where I would have went with the show, but, well, 'we'll always have Geneva.'
I still enjoy the show when it concentrates on its strengths (action sequences, the odd relationship between Chance, Winston, and Guerrero). I've found both Ilsa and Ames to be somewhat superfluous characters. Granted, they make for decent eye candy, but I don't think they really add much to the show as regulars. I wouldn't mind them being kept around in background roles with occasional appearances as their skill sets are required. But, I would prefer seeing them return to more of the original format of the show.
Or, just give us more Guerrero. I'd watch a show about that crazy ******* anytime.

Human Target is on the chopping block, but the interesting news is that despite it being moved to Friday at the last minute because of the President's speech, it pulled a larger audience than either The Good Guys or Dollhouse ever did. So maybe they'll keep it around for another season and move it to Friday nights.

I liked that the show was a bit more "focused" for the most part in this second season. And I really enjoy the show when it is action-y and a little corny; they definitely spent more time and effort on effects/locations. The episode with the Russian spy / wife was really great. Most of them have been decent with only a couple of forced storylines, but still enjoyable for a fluff show. I'd like another season for sure.
I'd have preferred if they only had Pucci on the cast as a full timer. Ames would have been better suited for cameos, much like their PI buddy has been used (albeit more for comic relief) and Baptist.
Still not sure why they started the season the way they did and more-or-less ignored the main plot point of the first season. The first episode was too forced IMO. The rest of the season helped make up for it.
Edit to add: I haven't seen the season finale yet, but unless they go completely overboard / out of formula, I'm sure I'll like it just fine. I was glad to see it listed as only the season finale; leaves just a bit of hope it might be picked back up. I thought it fit better as a summer show myself.
I've already forgotten about most of you

The group started to gell for me around episode 9, but I still don't think Ilsa is a good fit. What annoys me is the only reason the female characters were added was at the network's insistance to "bring female viewership up". They totally missed the whole point of a 'weekly' action movie!!!!

So Human Target's second season is over and I'm wondering what people thought of it. I know a number of us were pretty pumped at the beginning of the season but did that last?
In the end, I think adding Ilsa and Ames to the show was a mistake. I really don't see the guys putting up with the grief those two caused. Ilsa brought money and new toys but the guys were getting by alright without her. Why put up with her constant whining about the morality and legality of what they were doing?
And Ames? Really, dude? We're supposed to believe that Guerrero would tolerate her constant interference in his work?
I understand that the show's ratings have been less than stellar and its future is uncertain. I can't help but think the show would have been better off without the second season retooling.
