Speculation and Hopes for the Animal Booster

For a useless perk that does nothing, that is going to make an awful lot of people happy. That's pretty awesome that they did that.

Holding out for some sweet costume items, mostly in the bird theme. *crosses fingers*

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Beast Run will be good for a number of my animalistic alts. i wouldn't call most of them "furry" in the usual sense since they're more feral and horrific than sexy in appearance. (Of course on the internet there's always someone, somewhere into anything you can imagine as well as everything that you'd rather not...)
Curious to see how it will work with weapons out and shields. [Ninja Run] really shines with these options. I have a monstrous mutant, Sludgemouth, who wields a big manhole cover. This may be the run for him.

Also have some rooftop raider types that may look better with BR than NR.

They might have a chest piece that makes the chest bulge out like real birds have because of their wing muscles - with maybe a couple of different feather textures for it.

Been wanting to make a heroic stalker for some time. I like this idle. I think it's one piece of what I'm after.

Also, 'bound.'
I think its something other then a different word for jump. The Brainic Maniac that put together the Coh Codex left the game before we got Ninja Run so there isn't even a complied list of those "commands" to use a reference. This is the first time I've really looked at them and I'm starting to wonder if there is some sort of suffix that needs to be used.

Beast_Jump_1
Beast_Jump_Pre

are just some examples of suffixs that I see being used, but it could be anything.

I'm just gonna let me mind percolate all of this for a while and see if anything comes to me.

THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME

Yeah, I decided to mess a bit with it too, I should have something up on Youtube in a few minutes.

edit: here

Lol maybe for weapons, when using Beast run you'll hold your War Mace/Battle Axe in your teeth

For jumping: on live servers, I see for the code for ninja run NINJA_HOPPRE and NINJA_HOPAPEX and NINJA_HOP2 and NINJA_JUMP_POST2. That might be it?

I've swapped out the ninja for beast with that mov command and tried just about ever variation of Jump yall have come up with and I'm not getting what I think the jump animation should be.

If you look at the demo you'll see NINJA_HOP_APEX, or something like that, that is the top of the jump. I can get the running animation to play thorugh a jump but when you hit the top of the jump (ninja_hop_apex) my character just ends up moving around in the default idle pose. Not the beast run idle, the idle everyone gets when they sit around doing nothing.

So I can get beast run to work in the air, but I think that's just because I don't know the correct mov command, and I'm just seeing my character run in the air becuase the POS (postion) for my character is moving up the Z axis.

Parts of the Beast Run power (certian animations) might be sitting in the 186 meg patch that everyone should have sitting in their City of folder.

It actually looks rather intimidating on a toon who is decked out in a beastly type of costume. I wonder if they'll have a sound that goes with the animation? Like a huffing and puffing grunting noise... or maybe more like a snuffling pig. LOL

Well ninja run is silent save for a unique set of "whoosh whoosh whoosh" sekrit ninja sounds.

So I expect something, though I hope the growling is kept out so we can also use this run for Daredevil type vigilantes as well. Looks quite fitting for that IMO.

Edit: also curious to see not only what the leap looks like but what the backwards leap looks like. That particular aspect of ninja run sold me.

2nd Edit: so in anticipating the release of this, anyone who is really good with binds able to write me one for a travel power key that rotates or randomly selects between either beast run or ninja run? might be GREAT for the classic rooftop vigilante I'm starting to cook up.

I'd do:
bind f "powexecname Ninja Run$$powexecname Beast Run"
bind Shift+f "powexectoggleoff Ninja Run$$powexectoggleoff Beast Run"

Switch the order on the first one if you want Ninja run to turn on first.

Awesome

I'll admit I was hoping there was going to be some jumping going on in that video.
But I didn't expect some Kickin Jams

Shame the idle isn't a version of crouch. The one it has isn't as good as it could be.

So somewhere on this forum I found a 2043x1028 size photo of the image on the facebook page. The infamous Alpha Wolf shot. I can't find the link now but HERE IS A REALLY BIG PICTURE

So I wasted a bunch of time playing around with the resolution and I think I found something. On live right now this is the closest I can get to replicating what Alpha Wolf has on his screen. Notice the wolf tail

Now it's kinda hard to read but this either says
ANIMATED RUGGED WOLF TAIL
or
ANIMATED BUGGED WOLF TAIL

so are we looking at something new, or something broke? Or is there some rational explanation that I'm over looking?

I think the word is more likely to be "ragged" - like a wild and messy look, rather than the groomed look of the mutant booster tail.
