Advice on Honoree mission for en/en blaster

Hiya.

I'm soloing Mender Ramiels's arc with my 50 en/en/flame mastery blaster. I'm sort of a bit stuck at the Honoree mission.

I'm not in the 'OMG this mission blows **** balls' camp, but i was a little disappointed by the EB at the end. I thought the Portals were really cool, I love fighting wave after wave of lightly challenging mobs. I sniped each portal from outside the room, and then moved aside and dealt with the conscripts as they arrived. No problems here at all, great fun.

Holtz went down eaily, but then the honorree proceeded to 3 shot me.

Before I engaged, I ate 6 lucks and 6 reds and buffed up, but my attacks didn't seem to make much of an impact on him.

Some advice would be helpful on how I can solo him. Do I need to go get a shivan? I've got loads of temp powers and accolades, so if there's anything special there that would help, please advise.

Eco.

First, I would change your inspiration load to:

8 lucks; 8 sturdies; 4 respites

I believe KB works on him, but I could be wrong. Best way to keep him from 3 shotting you is keep him out of melee range. If that's not possible for you that way, you're going to have to burn him. High DPA attacks like ET and BS. If you're Force Mastery then Force of Nature and Temp Invul should be on.

Eat 2 sturdies if you have a SM, LE resist toggle, four if not. Only use four lucks at most at a time. More is a waste. Burn him.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Eh. Had no problem w/ my en/en blaster.

While you can just outright drop the mission, just set it to -1 your level, snipe full the EB's one at a time, then beat them down.

I cheated and dropped a Vanguard HVAS on him. If you have the Vanguard Merits, buy one of them, he'll take out Honoree without any problem. Just be careful not to die after spawning it, otherwise it'll die too!

I did it on an E3 Blaster...

I took out all the ambushes first along with the guys in the adjacent room to
the portals.

I then took out the near portals with snipe, in turn, dealing with the 3 or 4
Conscripts that aggro'd when their portal disappeared each time.

After the near side is dealt with, you can single pull the EB's back into the
adjacent room one at a time.

I use Lucks in pairs (keeping an eye on them so I always have a couple up)

If your attacks are well slotted, you should have enough dmg to take them
down singly (If Holtz hits you with the Curse, wait it out before starting
with Honoree).

In terms of temps - Shivans, HVAS, are overkill, so they'll definitely work.
Envenomed Dagger is a good thing to knock down the regen, and Recovery
Serum and Medpacks can be helpful if you're low on inspies.

The one thing that did surprise me on my E3 was that I couldn't hold
Honoree (even with 3 holds), and while I kept his End drained, he'd still
get off an attack now and then...

Still, it turned to be fairly straightforward for him to defeat those guys.

Completely as an aside here, but I find it mildly amusing that, while most people seem to have the Honoree as the challenge, it was actually the reverse for me. He didn't aggro until much, much later, and then was relatively easy to best for my Bots/Traps.

Holtz, on the other hand, proceeded to spank any bot outside of the FF Gen bubble with her one shot grenades, and Alpha himself got mauled pretty roughly by the Curse of Weariness, which I didnt see coming at all.

Hotz pulled off some move on me as I let her get too close to my En/En Force Blaster that basically dismantled me. The next time I fought them, I utilized my overslotted Power Push to the max (I have 5 Thunderstrike sets 6 slotted for the defence bonuses) and kept them at range while I destroyed them. I did similar with Trapdoor, keeping him pinned under the lava as I sent down torrents of blue death.

Honoree was the main problem. It's difficult to keep at range as he can fly, and knockback didn't seem to affect him. I had Force of Nature on recharge, so I popped 4 lucks, 4 studies, had to pop a break free due to stuns from his Energy Melee attacks, and had some respites to use, and basically did Hasten, Conserve Power, Boost Range and tried to get some ground while he was charging attacks to unleash more death on him, with him falling eventually.

I was using Hover to keep moving.

I died to each EB once, which isn't too bad really.

Regarding the next EB: It can't fly, but the roof doesn't provide you much height, and may result in the EB running off, so you have to chase a little and get them interested in looking up at you again. Sturdies and Lucks will help just in case.

If it halved your endurance, Z, thats the Curse of Weariness. It cuts 50 off your endurance. I.E. in half. That crippled even Alpha, who's an MM, due to toggles, buffs and personal attacks. Really nasty power.

It wasn't that. This one sent my HP from Green to Red. I think it was some kind of exploding bayonet stab.

Holtz has very poor mez protection and no kb protection at all. I can't see how anyone could have a problem with that. :0

Given she's a ranged fighter, it was hard to get close to her to deply stuff like Poison Trap. I may have got unlucky with bots KB not tripping when I needed it (wouldnt suprirse me, Sods law and all). Also, once she slapped me with the Curse it made things a helluva lot harder, especially when my A.I. stupidity enabled bots ran out of the FF gen shield, and promptyl got eaten by her one-shot-pet-kill grenades.

Z, that sounds like her energy Bayonet. Those things are nasty, and she is an EB after all.

No problems on my bots/traps.... Just hit her with a ranged shot then run around a corner and wait.

Calling him "her" probably made him mad.

I was thinking it might of been Psionic Bomb they use, those things are really nasty.

Cheers v much for all the advice. I had another few attempts, but got cheesed iff enough to auto-complete the mission once I realised that it would end with his defeat anyway. The EB in the next mission was much more to my level of challenge. I put him down without being defeated.

Quite a cool arc, overall.

Tech, didn't you buy the cure for the curse of weariness? You craft it on the Vanguard table in the RWZ.
