Hamidon Raid the 17 & 18 Desember

And once again RL raises its ugly head to come bite me on my Hami-raid preparation butt. If you don't see FrIce hanging around the Hive by 6pm don't wait around for me to turn up. I shall likely be very very late so will just have to warm myself on the "success" shouts I expect to see in the raid channel(s)

I... May be a little bit late. My client is misbehaving. I'll do some reboots of the laptop and whatnot in attempts to get it to work within the hour, but yeah, if I'm not there, it's troubles. :<

We just had a Red Wall of Downtime text on Union.
They are taking down the server at 6pm GMT, for maintenance.
IF server is back up at 7pm GMT, We will continue with the raid. IF not, then Raid is Canceled.

(grumbles)

Client is now patching... I got stuck on a busride for a fair bit longer than I expected to due to snow. -_-
Currently estimated time for applying the patch is 7 hours. When I can, I'll log in and see if there's raiding going on. Apologies if you are/were waiting for me. ._.

Despite the Red wall of text (bug fix) set at the Raid time, we manged to make a Hamidon Raid happen. My thanks to all Team Leaders that was able to attend, every player that joined in the fun and Mod08 for joining us.
I have a feeling the Admin message he sent helped us getting several players.

We did a good time today aswell, clearly we have begun becoming more organized

bah i missed both thought it was Sat/Sun had too many christmas parties to go to this weekend

Although I've been playing for 3 years I had never done a Hamidon Raid until yesterday.
I took my Fire/Earth Tank onto Mundunugu's team (Great team lead). I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to talk me through it and were kind enough to give me EoEs.
I had a great time - thank you all - too many to mention.
The icing on the cake was Mod08 being there as well.

@Aurealis, not sure that I can attend a Hami raid (if one was made) today.

I do hope though that we get a lot of new leaders for future Hami Raids. Both from veterans from prior raids or new players.
The Trick to the Raid lies with the Team leaders. They must know what to do, and then you need the Raid Leader to coordinate.

I was pleased to hear the willingness to make teams, while our team leaders where still logging in or fighting the weather to get in time. Even to lead the teams.

So far it has only been Lawrence and me that has led public raids on Union (as Raid Leaders), I hope that more will step up for the task?
After we do the raid in about 1 hour and 30 min (max), the crux is the assembling/making team/spawning cycle.

For the raid itself, I have created a channel for Raid Leaders (to better the communication between the all those leading the raid.) I look forward to the day when that channel has alot of people. Who knows? When we have enough people willing to be Raid Leaders and team leaders we .. could.. have a weekly hamidon raid, just as we have weekly CoP and Mothership raids.

Since we now have the groove, know how and... extra incarnate shards dropping from the mitos, the Raid becomes worth it
(in contrast to the Hamidon raid that was just after I-9 were launched. It took 7 hours to finish )

If anyone wants to lead a Hamidon Raid, do give me tells and i'll help you with binds, advice etc

Excellent raid, went very smoothly indeed and demonstrated that my current modest pc setup can handle a hamidon smackdown

For me the icing on the cake was getting the Hami Raider gold temp title, and the cherry on the icing on the cake was Phaserbolt's alternate title

I was planned to be there the second raid... but real life took over with a vengeance
