I was told there were fairies distributing cookies here.

In other news, now at 1117, with a Vincent Ross' arc attempt which should have been 1118, but badge did not award.

I'll be in the Corner of Sorrow enjoying my non-cookies, and planning other ways of getting that one.

I guess I can finally throw my hat in here as well with my measly 1022 badges.

Badging in a PvP zone?

If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.

This is an enjoy-the-ride game. "50" is only a number, not the goal of the game. - Noxilicious

Did it the hard way on my first badger, but wisened up a little for my second. Here was my route:

1. Enter the sewers in Atlas, travel to the Boomtown entrance, getting the badges in the middle as well.
2. Switch to the Abandoned Sewers in Boomtown, and trace my path back.
3. Exit out to Atlas, and use the train to go to the other entrances (Kings, Steel, Skyway).
4. Get the badges at the entrances of each one.

It made it a lot faster.

EDIT: And, I'm 8 away from 1000 on my main badger; hope to get there soon.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

I at about 1028 or 1029 with Mouse Police at the moment.

I still need to go villain at some point, then back to hero...

Did the same. I have 1128 so far but forgot to post here first.

My main hit 1000 badges 2 days ago upon successful completion of the Barracuda SF. Last night he was able to add the 7 Recluse's Victory Hero defeat badges to the total. Once he wraps up some loose ends redside in a week or so, he can head back blueside & pick up the new blueside explores/accolades - which will put him past 1100.

I'm at 1147 badges on my Emp Psi Defender. I still need to do most of the Strike Forces (tree specs, ice mistral etc etc), several Ouro badges, RV Heroes and Mo Lady Grey, Kahn and Cuda. If any of you plan on running any of those on Freedom, give me a holler! I'd be glad to help.

@Ra Ra
Keep your ear to the ground on the Freedom globals for these, and check for runs scheduled/organized by the Freedom Horde. It's a great way to get wide-scale support for regular runs w/o being part of a particular SG/VG. Cheers, and see you on the field.

Soul Stormer - Illusion/Kinetics Controller

broke 1000 by getting all of the villain explores.

its not really fair to jump to the +1100 badge club just because its the closest multiple of 100 to the current max. getting 1000 badges is still a huge achievement, and will be even after they add the next 1000 badges. having the +1100 badge club is fine, but limiting recognition to just the few that get that many is silly as when the next badges come out, you'll all race to re-recognize yourselves for the +1200 club.

i think the +1000 club should be the recognition for being dedicated to badging. any more is just icing on the cake .

But it does raise the question of "When is there enough?" I'm of the believe that putting map badges in the sewers and shadow shard and boosting the hazard zones to 8 map badges was simply for the sake of adding badges just to add badges. Granted that exploring around the shard was kind of cool to see, the only reason for people to do it is that they are collectors or need 5 merits to help get an IO or something.

Only zones now where they could add map badges would be the PvP zones......

So what's next? New plaques? Doesn't seem necessary to have more of those. More defeat badges? Eh. New TF badges? Ok, those are usually worth seeking out.

See, that's the reason why I felt the newer badges were useful: It opened the zones to exploration and activity to people who'd just avoid the Shard or the sewers, for instance, for lack of anything to do.

What I'd like to see to further exploit this is more established exploration options for a place like the Shard. We did it with Faultline, we can do it with the Shard. Expand the Portal Corp/military bases, make the vendors more sensible rather than the token ones we dropped in there, add more Incarnate TF/trial options, perhaps finally make it a hero/villain neutral combat zone, like how it works in Praetoria...all of these things add to the invitation to players to actually go to the Shard with a desire to play and explore, rather than view it as a transit zone that's best seen as a blur.

So, at least with the Shard and the Sewers, I felt like those explore badges actually DO accomplish something. Enforced tourism isn't a bad thing if it's not hard to do.

I can easily see the shard becoming a Co/Op zone IF future incarnate TF's were added to the shard. That would perhaps be one of the best things they could do with the shard.

I'd actually hoped that they'd revamp the Shadow Shard into a series of co-op zones (actually, 5 new zones: 1 hero, 1 villain, 1 hero-themed co-op, 1 villain-themed co-op, and 1 open PVP), but the addition of those new badges prety much dashed my hopes for a total revamp.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

Also, the new exploration badges have a lot more text than the earlier ones AND it's well-written.

I just joined the club, getting Ouroboros Mender at 1000 with Questing immediately after at 1001. All hero badges too, although I did consider (before the sunset announcement) to eventually change alignment for red side badges. Since there are only a few days remaining I will be content to be breaking 1000 and knowing this character never "wavered".

Sadly, this will most likely be my last post. It's been a good run and I had a great time getting here. This is the one game that I pursued badging and had fun while doing it! I plan to continue badging until the end. Just wish the game could go on, to continue the hunt.
