grav/storm: I'm HELPING!

I would like help with a build.

The character concept: "Why are you all angry? I'm HELPING!"

That is to say, the sort of hero who uses gale pretty much randomly, or possibly pessimally. Yes, I'm aware this could easily be annoying; the character will be played only with people who are aware of what they're getting into and think it's fun.

So, help me build a grav/storm troller who has maximal options for disrupting things! I am pretty sure that group teleport is a must, and probably both recall friend and tp foe. Are there any other pool powers you'd particularly recommend for their potential to Cause Chaos?

You picked a great secondary with Storm. Tornado and Hurricane can drive people nuts! Plus, Gravity Control's immobilizes don't prevent knockback. Advantage: you!

Other recommendations:

Group Fly. People HATE Group Fly. Turn it on when it's not even sightly helpful. Fun!

Grant Invisibility. Ask who *doesn't* want invis (Tanks almost never do) then make sure to always invis them. Hilarious!

Jump Kick and/or Flurry. These won't actually harass other players, but you can imagine them shaking their heads every time you use these silly, inefficient attacks. Cool!

Whirlwind. You'll already have Hurricane's PBAoE repel effect (making Whirlwind annoying *and* inefficient), but this also lets you spin around like an idiot! Awesome!

Go get 'em!

If you just cast Dimension Shift, Gale, Tornado, Lightning Storm, and run Hurricane constantly you're guaranteed to cause massive issues. Teleporting enemies behind the Tank while he's moving toward them is a favorite griefer technique too (and one some poorly played characters actually sometimes use).

Adding Group Fly to that combo of powers would make you almost unbearable to have around.

Bonus points: Put Snow Storm on enemies and intentionally knock them into unaggroed groups... if you think you can survive the results.

Ohh, hadn't thought of snow storm + knockback.

No group fly yet, but I have the whole teleport pool. I'll let people know that, for the Best Experience, they should turn off teleport prompting and just go with the flow.

Kinetics and only use Increase Density.

Then again...there's so many better powersets for this.

It would be a great april fools joke to play on one's friends or SG, no?

too many others to name

Oh hell yeah, Dimension Shift! You've got to put 3 recharge in that ASAP. AoE Intangible! Your team will HATE you! It's perfect.

Gotta throw team TP in there somewhere. Run hurricane (Slotted for KB, of course), have your Singularity out (For the KB) and then tp the whole team right into the middle of the next spawn. Guaranteed to make you the life of the party! Nothing like hanging there in the air for two seconds realizing the whole thing is about to get very very messy.

"Can play" is not a binary. It's a float.
There are some pretty low values of "can play" out there.

Meh, all you need is group fly, probably the most annoying power in the game, turn it on and forget it. Your teammates might get a laugh out of pretending they hate your guts, but they're kidding, really!

Recast Singy at every opportunity you get...right smack in the middle of a group. Helpful!

Just a quick FYI: Team Teleport bypasses the prompt.

My MM used to teamport his bots and anyone unlucky enough to stand near him right into the middle of mobs. People figured out pretty quick that it was actually keeping them safe, since the FFG was guaranteed to come with.

... It does? Because I've been teleported on teams before, and it asks. I guess that must have been ATT or something.

No no no. Using Recall Friend on teammates prompts. Using ATT on teammates prompts.

Using "Team Teleport" does not prompt. It takes everyone within a 30ft radius of you and moves them to where you click.

I'm not sure what's wrong with me (or apparently all of us on this thread) but this sounds like so much fun it HAS to be made! I've been wanting to make a FF/NRG defender specializing in KB for so long now but had my enthusiasm tempered by the knowledge that I'd get kicked out of most pugs if I went crazy with it. But the idea of 6 slotting force bolt for recharge and knockback distance makes me giggle. Its already a fast recharge but to have it available all the time and have great distance on it would be awesome. Between that and Energy powers slotted for KB instead of damage...

No. No. NO!

You Wormhole the foes straight overhead so they go out of sight and then rain down on the whole team.

Or, you Wormhole them into the next spawn. After casting Snowstorm.

The bonus points comment really just made me giggle out loud. That was a funny one... I just kept picturing that one in my head and all the comments to follow from the team.

Don't forget to take phase shift so that when all the mobs think they see you they really just see everyone else. That or you could chill out in hibernate/PFF and just sit back and laugh like a madman

Am I the only person that wants to make one of these now just for the sheer fun of it?

Shame I'm on the EU servers or we could get a whole I'm HELPING team together!

EDIT: Does it have to be Grav/Storm? What about illusion/storm... sit next to the tank, cast group invisibility on him and then turn on hurricane. Then throw a random Phantom Army into another spawn and chuck a tornado into another one.... hell this is the one toon you WANT the phantasm to run into melee!!

Life is one big practical joke that we as the human race have yet to see the punchline to. Once you work that out the rest is easy.

Just had another thought... make sure you put Force Feedback +recharge in Gale because then if it fires you can annoying then be even more annoying 100% faster for five seconds!

Your team will be amazed at your speed and thank you for it.... I promise

Wait....you mean that isnt how I'm supposed to play illusion? Why does no one tell me these things??? No wonder I have to solo all the time! KHAAAAAAN!

Man- I would love to see such a toon in action. You should probably name him "Kick-Me", because after getting on a PuG for about 3 mins, you would probably find yourself teamless. Haha. Sounds like chaos and fun.

I had an Empathy Defender named "Dr. Ironic." He had no heals except the secondary aura forced on him.

When team mates complained I didn't heal them, I told them I didn't have any heals, thus my name. Then I got kicked.

That kind of sound like my scrapper, fully dressed in a power armor suit that didn't work but it was stuck on so he couldn't take it off. He is an MA/Regen, named "Irony Man."

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)
