I just discovered this issue this morning too. Thankfully I have a list of the 18 IOs that I had purchased for my NW's planned i19 build. I didn't include the list in my petition but I did state I could provide one if it would help resolve the issue. Hope this works out for everyone.

They ninja'ed my stuff too this morning when I checked all gone. Stuff I was gonna use had issue 19 went live this week. Do you think I can have my stuff restored before the holidays?

Well looks like I lost a bunch of stuff in this screw up too. I know 4 of the recipes that are missing for sure, but because I didn't keep a damn log of what was in there I'm out the rest? That's flippin' ridiculous. I was planning on pulling them out when respec'ing my main toons when i19 released, which was delayed because of bugs, now I've lost them because of a damn e-mail screw up? Oh man...

So why exactly hasn't there been an announcement on this somewhere by a red name and some form of logging set up on their end?

Yeah I think they should take full ownership here and restore everything that was lost. They know when the rollback happened so it may just be a case of the Game Masters don't know how to find out the info but the devs may. Maybe someone can give 'em hell in their petition and it'll get escalated to them.

I got lucky and while I did have a ******** of stuff sitting in emails on both accounts I was working on going through all of my toons crafting and storing IOs (about 60 toons). I happened to have finished everything on Wednesday night. Talk about lucky!

But so many people have to have been affected here. We get 60 days to claim them and can send up to 20 items. A lot of people leave stuff on the BM too. Should we be worried about a rollback there as well?

I'm happy I got dupes and I didn't get screwed but I'd be pissed if I lost 30 or so IOs and a few hundred million inf.

GL to those who filed their petitions and who actually know what they lost. GM Grackle's going to be a busy dude.

I lost an email with 500M inf attached; fortunately I keep track of when I send myself large chunks of cash like that. I did submit a petition and got an email saying:

"I am escalating your petition to a Senior Customer Support Representative to further assist you. Please be aware, however, that there may be a delay in reviewing the issue, based on ticket volume at the time your ticket was submitted."

Which makes some sense because I bet a lot of people were affected by this. Hopefully they'll be able to track this down and eventually fix it.

Ok, gotta a response back from them. They are saying its going to take awhile due to the volume of tickets with this issue. Looks like they gonna be busy.

Again. Just because you *can* let it sit for 60 days, doesn't mean you *should*. The global chat server where global e-mail resides is notoriously unstable and has been for years.

Send the stuff. Log off. Log on. Claim the stuff. Period.
Never, ever, ever rely on it as another form of storage, because it isn't storage and can be wiped irretrevably in a drop, a rollback, or just by accident.

An update to my earlier post...

I got back everything that I lost when the email ate it yesterday. I simply provided what toons sent the emails, where they went and a fairly vague timeframe. And I'm talking like 8+ hours in one case and the GM's found the items and they've already been restored.

My ticket got escalated to senior staff, but other than that I have added more info, such as which character sent it and when. I hope this can get resolved soon. When I was putting stuff to e-mail I figured, "Eh, I was going to use the stuff for I19 launch day on Nov. 16th, but since it is delayed less than the 60 day e-mail expiration I will just wait." Bad idea.

It's bad enough that I have to waste so much of the time I should be playing the game dealing with inventory administration. Why should I be expected to put forth the equivalent of a part time job as an online file clerk just to "take part" in having nice IOs? Yeah, sure, some lawyer in the marketing department says that we can have a fulfilling game experience while completely ignoring the crafting system, but who do they think they're kidding? Now they give us a horrible inventory glitch, and then tell us they "might" be able to help us if we happened to itemize our email inventory just prior to the rollback (Sure, hearing about it all after the fact should serve as sufficient advance warning...)

What a slap in the face :/

Worse, I have to sit here resisting the urge to pummel my roommate who's taking the opportunity to gloat over how easy it's been for him to get lost items replaced in WoW.


Dear NCsoft, if you go through with this shutdown you've guaranteed you'll not see another dime from me on any project you put out, ever.

The reply that they'll escalate it is a generic response.
The next day i had my favorite GM, GM Lloyd, send me a mail back, saying that he found the 7 items, and i need to provide a toon name that has 7 spots open since he has to drop it in a toon. Went to a lowbie project, cleared a few drops to make room, and i'll prob have it over the weekend.

Thank you guys for keeping track of this and giving back what we 'lost'.

You know what, we wouldnt be in this mess in the first place had they just given us account based storage like what people been asking about since day 1. Its a pain to be moving stuff around 1 item at a time. Having account storage would totally make this email thing a non issue.

I'd make use of the Bank for once if it were account-storage.

I'm worried about the number of items lost specifically. Will they say I can only get 10 back, because that is the most enhancements a character can hold, or will they let me have all of them back over a couple of characters?

Unfortunately I can only narrow my loss down to one of two characters, sometime in the past 3 days... a pair of Ragnaroks and a HO, plus some other stuff... I'm expecting their respose to me to be a "polite" version of Hah Hah! Sux 2BU!

EDIT: Thank you GM_Roland and the rest of the CS staff. I'm quite pleased to have been disappointed in my expectations...

Did any of you have more than 10 enhancements lost? If so, how did they handle giving them back?

Not necessarily. If we had account-storage, it'd most likely be handled by a global server of some kind, and the same type of rollback could still happen to it.

specifically I lost 3 billion inf that was in 3 e-mails, I had to provide them 3 toon names and they added 1 bil to each one. so I imagine the same would be true for more than 10 enhancements

I lost 18 enhancements and 1 recipe. The GM asked me to provide the names of 2 characters with room to take the inventory. Everything was restored. I did provide a list of everything I thought I had lost, even though the GM didn't ask for it -- so maybe there's some hope for the folks that aren't sure of what they had?

I could definitely come up with a list of missing stuff, since the IOs are the difference between my Issue 18 build and my Issue 19 build. I am guessing they are off on the weekends so I am awaiting my item restoration on Monday, hopefully! This is very reassuring, thanks toxsyn!

What I don't get is why they need a complete inventory to restore.

This happened to me once before and they asked when the original email was sent and from which server. Didn't ask the amounts sent via the missing emails.

Got all of my items. The list they gave me was incorrect so I made corrections and got all of my stuff back. Whew!
