Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes - on Disney XD
From what I saw, not too bad.
Only thing that bugs me though is why in the world would you put a micronized, full-sized prison on the S.H.I.E.L.D. heli-carrier? You just know you're asking for trouble...
Gonna have to rewatch the repeats (Just got to love the DVR) 'cause I missed the back half of #1 and the front of #2. Now I'm just gonna wonder about how Black Panther, Cap, and Hawkeye get into the group.
Thank you for the time...
Considering Hawkeye was in the Vault before Iron Man made it go all kablooey, I imagine he'll be trying to hunt down Black Widow soon enough. As for the others... I expect Cap to turn up around episode 4 or so.
Good showcase of all or most of the villains the team will be running up against, including a few fairly obscure names from the general Marvel rogues gallery. Good use of everyone's powers and capabilities, and Graviton was a fine choice for the opening "epic world-ending" level threat to bring the team together and show off the potential of the series. They even threw in Doc Samson's transformation and an appearance by a SHIELD LMD!

Personally, I was very unimpressed. I like the concept of all four prisons being broken out of, setting up layers of villains to fight over the course of the show. (by layers I mean all the one-shot villains along the way, masterminds like The Leader and The Mad Thinker and then whoever broke everyone out)
That said, the execution left a lot to be desired. A lot of the animation was awkward (though I liked most of the final battle), the voice acting is very hit or miss (Ironman is just... ugh) and the character design itself is very... odd. Lastly, the theme song is so ridiculously juvenile 'rock', my friend and I were laughing the whole way through. We were both convinced the Jonas brothers were involved somehow...
I like the fact that all the heroes and villains were wearing all the classic silly costumes! Whether the situation called for it or not. Some of them were way, way over the top and would only work in a comic, yet they pulled it off. There was so much, and so many old faces, action, etc, it was just a banquet of superhero goodness. At first I thought they might have taken too big a bite, but then I thought they handled all the characters and stories nicely.
I'm looking forward to more.
As for the animation, design, and stuff. Its par Marvel. I don't expect a lot from their animation, so I'll let it pass.
Have only seen the micro-eps so far, but I've been pleased overall...but remember I'm mostly a DC Universe guy, so YMMV.
And for the record, I think I'm the only one who's NOT bugged by Iron Man's voice.

They did a full run of the micro eps which built up to the hour long premier a night or so ago.
Iron Man seems theyre trying to do a RDJ version of Stark, im hearing some of the same inflections in the attempt to mimic his voice.
Theyve got a fairly large cast in this series multiple villains and even a few heroes. Barbara Morse AKA Mockingbird makes a brief cameo as a shield agent in one fo the Hulk micro episodes.
So you mean you'll put down your rock, and I'll put down my sword; and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?

Loved it, that fight vs Graviton was fairly epic. Agreed about the animation, though the second episode it seemed to improve a lot.

The epic fight was pretty epic because the heroes, although they work together, they didn't coordinate. It was mostly, someone would smash, someone would distract, someone would blast, whoever happened to be at bat next. No one took the "Lead" in the fight.
They showed early on, that although people looked to Iron Man for answers, he didn't really want to give any. Ant Man and Wasp were a bit snarky, Thor seemed distant, and The Hulk was, well the HULK.
You can clearly see how having someone call the shots during a battle would really streamline the fight, and these guys really need a "Leader."
Yeah. It looks like Tony's going to be the man behind it all at first, but having a seasoned field leader like Cap join the team should really boost their effectiveness.

FOOM!!
Anyway...was a noble effort (ep 1/2) it looks like it is going to be at least interesting.
I found little to totally be negative on...it appears that they are pulling out the stops to do a good encompassing storyarc.
Wait and see what comes next, like reading a comic and waiting for next months issue.
The inclusion of so many bad guys....nice touch...luv Absorbing Man ... one of my faves.
There is a good chance that we will be treated to a "condensation" of things Avengers Related in the run not quite Readers Digest Condensed Book Version---but close....thats a good thing for those casual readers or those unfamilier with the mythos that is marvel.
Not too bad.
It was fun playing "name that obscure character".
The voice acting ranged from good, to horrible. Not sure what they were thinking on some of those choices. Always good to hear Jeffery Combs though.
The fight scenes were well done, though once again, they prove that in the Marvel Universe, there's no problem so big that you can't solve it simply by throwing the Hulk at it.
They couldn't decide which Nick Fury to use, so they blended them both into one hybrid. Not sure that was the right move. Just pick one. The original, or Sam Jackson. Not Sam Jackson with the original's hair. ;-)
I'll keep watching it, because there's more positive there than negative, imho, but nowhere near the quality of "Woverine and the X-Men", or "Spectacular Spider-Man", (and much much MUCH less than anything from the DCAU, but that goes without saying).

Watched tonight's (10/27) ep.
Not bad. Wished Hulk would of stayed on for another ep, but his leaving fits in the tone of how long he stayed on in the beginning so...
Look's like Haz is close to the mark on when Cap will appear. I'd say ep 5 or 6 at this point.
And for someone who's a little more familiar with Civil War-era Marvel. Wasn't there a Negative Zone Prison created during that time frame? I thought something was mentioned, but I'm not that up on Marvel stuff of that point.
Thank you for the time...
Yes there was. it was a big secret project by the Illuminati to create a prison that could hold super villains andthe heroes who didnt register. A bit of a dark gitmo parody.
