PERC Asks for Event Suggestions

Hello Triumph People!

I am a representative of PERC, and since I'd like to give the people what they want. I am making this post the unofficial "suggestion box" for comments, thanks, complains, and event suggestions. I have had some people that really enjoyed the recent story contest, and yes we know there were people that liked the Mr. & Ms. Costume Contest and those that did not like it. I have only been a rep. for PERC on this server for 8 months roughly.

I am not huge on good ideas when it comes to trying to host events my mind basically blanks out. I loved the forum story event, and I love costume contests. But what else would you all like to see from PERC?

A costume contest where the prizes are the IOs of your choice instead of inf?

That is always an idea, that will be great and a lot of hard work on my part to come by. Thanks Blitzkrieg88.

I like peanut butter on celery. Not sure how you can work this in.

A base-off. Judged base showcase. 3 prizes to be awarded to the presenters or architects of the winning bases.

I can wait until after the in game halloween event is over it that helps any.

It might be fun to do a Triumph MA contest. We have the best storytellers!

Obsidius and his friends did a "treasure hunt" of sorts that was a lot of fun a couple years back.

How about organizing a Dropship Challenge for the upcoming Rikti Invasion? It doesn't require large pools of inf or rare items or advance farming, what it needs is simply leadership and some advertising to pull people together at a couple of times and zones to defend the server at a much higher level than usual.

I'd suggest trying for a slot Friday evening, Saturday evening (at a time that's different by several hours), and Sunday afternoon as a start, with possibly one Thursday or a second one earlier on Saturday; that should bracket a good selection of the times most people on Triumph are likely to be available, so hopefully most people who want could attend at least one. As there are more blueside characters, and heroic defense against the invaders even when there's no personal gain is, well, a bit more of a heroic thing I'd suggest focusing on blueside initially.

Bringing in someone who is a veteran of the events on other servers might be helpful, to advise on things like route planning and where to station people.

For other suggestions, starting up even monthly hami and ship raids would be good; at one point Triumph was managing weekly ship raids but AFAIK that's fallen away for lack of organization. There's enough experienced players that a ship raid is really mostly a matter of picking a sensible time and doing some publicity, it's a co-op event which means you don't have to run separate red and blue sub-events, and since it's a bit lower pressure and cooperative people have more chance to interact while doing whatever it is that they do.

In the short term, perhaps organizing some teams to do the Deadly Apocalypse ("banners") this weekend would be good; Triumph is lightly-populated enough that it's hard to find enough people willing to do this. Folks could organize into larger teams but otherwise Trick-or-Treat fairly normally, but with the understanding that everyone involved would drop things and hit whatever zone the "Supernatural Activity" popped up in, with players and / or characters rotating in and out as needed over some time period.

If you need help with prizes let me know. I have a ton of "stuff" that I can donate to a good cause like this. Stuff being Purples IOs, infl, comic-con costume code (2010 one), and a few PvPIOs.

I think events help the server and I only play on this server. So I might not take part, but I will front some great prizes. And It might imporve my karma (farming = bad karma).

Actually what I really need is to have more time to plan, run and attend the events along with some help on this server with prizes so on and so forth. So essentially to have someone else that can be the main Triumph rep would help me out a ton right about now.

hey all, just got back from a long hiatus, been psyched about all the new content ingame (irl as well, lol) been thru tons of changes at my homebase, but all for the better.

i am hoping to be back for good this time, Triumph was dead last night, but I know everyone is busy with their IRL happenings as well. looking forward to some new content, new players and old pals! (hit me up Az ;D )

oh, as for suggestions, I am afraid my input would be rather oldschool, considering last 'new' stuff i played was when the MA issue popped
