That is certainly more interesting, Wildclaw....

SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.

Yeah, I started with wanting a Tanker that didn't look much like a Tank, and thought a ridiculously tall and skinny scarecrow would work. It just evolved from there to a walking tree on fire. The mind works in weird ways sometimes, but I like what it ended up as.

one of two ways ,

I sometimes sketch with a blue photo pencil ----> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-photo_blue (im real messy with lines but try not to erase things ) then find the lines I like and ink over the blue pencil .the blue pencil pretty much disapears when you scan it in .

(trick one Suichiro from these forums taught me or I stole it from him )

before learning the non photo blue pencil trick I would scribble out sketches then go back in and ink the lines I liked and only after inking would I erase anything , then when it was scanned in I would tweak the brightness in photoshop which allowed me to generally make any lite lines disapear and the inked lines very crisp and bright ,

(I've only recently started taking a class or two so all my early stuff is done the hard way )

lets see

pencil wise I use a refillable clickie pencil (I recently splurged and got a hoighty toighty fancy clickie pencil <.< >.> and my friends make fun of me for what I paid for it ...but its like my excalibur it really does feel right in my hand )

ink wise I use black sharpie markers for big black areas and micron pens of varying width for my inked lines (Microns are cheap and versatile and can be found at any art supply store )

paper wise I often buy a big pack of high end copy paper from the various office supply stores and sometimes pick up bristol board for larger images where im gonna be doing big doodles .

Toxic Shia has been doing alot of art streaming lately where he draws live , i've found it amazingly great as a tool to watch him since I can ask him questions about what he is doing and how he is using photoshop and i've picked up a few tricks from seeing other artists drawing live .
These are some great tricks indeed! I only wish I could catch Shia's live stream myself. I've been frequenting DA reading all of Juggy's tutorials and any others I can get my hands on but its not the same without the live help right there with you. I've just started learning how to use Photoshop and I got a free copy of Elements 7.0 with my Bamboo Craft Wacom Tablet 3 weeks ago, so I'm still at the really painful stage of learning how everything works, and I think my hads are turning into graphite. I'm a lefty and I smudge my way across the page as I go along. I'm a big fan of erasers so maybe I should look into the blue pencil you speak of....

When I use traditional pencils I used to smudge alot , on Big pictures I tend to use a small hand cloth to rest over penciled areas so that while working on another area I don't smudge things .

As far as photoshop I love it but im not very knowledgeable on alot of its tricks I even with shia to lean on for advice i've been seriously debating taking a photoshop class just to build up familiarity with it .

I'll talk to shia and see if we can maybe schedule a stream in advance (its usually a spur of the moment thing . but it really is fun and educational watching someone draw something from beginning to end and be able to ask questions )

I've been watching your thread and im really excited that your so obviously into it , I really wish alot more folks would take up the hobby as like anything the more you practice the better you get and prior to starting CoH I was drawing stick figures .

It works in reverse, too. I used to draw really well back in high school and college, but haven't in awhile and I'm back to stick figures.

I actually had questions about High Jinks , does he have eyes or is it just red spots on his mask ?

Tooth's signature grin is what most people remember him for. My roommate has been making fun of it for years and cracked up when he saw the drawing Deebs did.

I really liked to sparkle you added to his smile in the drawing you did, Cyrsei. Definitely added character to the piece.

I would love to color all of the pieces I did, and Tooth was the one which initially started me off his grin was perfect inspiration. I'll post it if / when I ever gat around to coloring it.

And Thanks Deebs I would really like that! Just let me know if its ok with Shia and when the next one is.

Ahoy ahoy! Thank you so much. Know I can always depend on those. Unless, of course, I completely forget that we're in Praetoria where players who are brand new to the game are forced to create characters. >_> Then I'm dumb. But still have respect for them as people and players, and do what I can to work around or make up for their shortcomings.

Talked to shia and he said he would likely set one up this friday at 7pm pacific , I have no idea what he would be working on (and you'll likely have to deal with a quarter of the screen taken up by Doctor Who as he draws )

Stream link ----> http://www.livestream.com/drunkfusdrawing

if his schedule changes at all i'll let you know but he seemed fairly certain that he could pop on and draw at that time .

Oh demmit all to heck >.< I totally forgot to check this thread yesterday. I was sick yesterday and didn't really check the forums so I totally missed this and am horrendously sorry for missing such a great opportunity. Please let Shia know I'm sorry and still interested if/when he hosts this again.

Hey!
My apologies for not replying sooner!
I was away in a hotel when I saw this, grabbed it on my laptop, and forgot to come back here!

Thank you so much, Deebs!!!

Zox looks fantastic!! As does everyone else, truly!
I think I love Strange Case the most, mainly because of the expression, I suppose...
Although, that's what I like most about your work, you capture the character.
Very very awesome!
Honestly, you captured Zox so very well there!

And... I did do a quick color job on Zox too... I was going to go back and do a better job.
I'll post/share it in a bit. If I don't fix it up, I'll just post the quick one I did!
(I think I am going to make a sig with alternating pics of my characters... and that is going in it)

I love my animated avatar, too, and have a hard time deciding which one I want more! Maybe I'll find a way to combine them. And since you said you like seeing people color your stuff, you can add the full sized version to your collection. <3
