Find a group of people that will play with you until last mission. Keep one of them on the TF forever (have a person sacrifice the char to you, and perhaps you pay them a fixed % of your revenue.)
You can freely change difficulty settings mid-ITF by switching the settings and logging out. <_< It may not seem like it, but I'm pretty damn brilliant when I want to be. |
But don't you get Imperious until the last mission?? How does Emp/Psi handle the first 3?

How would a DM/SD do? Or DM/Inv? Im thinking about trying one of them, just not sure which. Or is claws that much better?
Stick with the character you have.
Press F1-F2-F3-F4-F5 more often.

-Can take out +4x8 w/Bosses groups in a respetable amount of time
-Can walk into a variety of mission maps that ar not catered to one specific type of damage and still mow though +4 groups without face-planting often. -Has a respectable single-target chain of attacks as well as great AOE's -Can be managed with healthy endurance levels -Is not a Fire/Kin Troller |
I had comments as well. I think I'll stick with this one:
If you can't solo the ITF, all of it, then you can't solo it. (Yes, the exception of course is the logged off pad.) I've only made one attempt to solo the ITF and failed due to the autohit fluffy gettin up in my grill. Someday I'll give it another shot. |
From what I've read Warshades might fit those criteriea. Read Dechs Kaison's guide in his sig for the MFing Warshade
Must find more dead bodies... Must find more dead bodies... Must find more dead bodies...
Hell... I might reroll Chaoswolf, currently claws/wp brute, as a claws/dark brute. Sound fun and fits the concept.

I made my claws/dark brute last night, didn't even delete Chaoswolf to make it so now like half of my Pinnacle roster are brutes. Can't even remember what I named her as I also created a KM/EA brute, an A/TA corruptor, a DB/WP stalker and played my FA/FM tank for a while on top of my nightly HV merit runs on Bill and Louis.
Was a good gaming night.
I haven't played either of SD or SR. What is it that makes SR so much better than SD? Is it just the combination with claws that makes it great or is SR better with other primaries as well?
|
The "DDR"? Surely you aren't telling us that SR is the best defensive set because it lets you win at Dance Dance Revolution?
Defense Debuff Resistance.
Cimerorans do nothing to SR players.
My thoughts on Claws.....
Isnt Claws AOE < Spines AOE but with much better single target damage?
I had the understanding that Throw Spines = Shockwave without the annoying knockback...
Spine Burst = Spin, & Ripper = Eviscerate, only Spines has the minor and seldom resisted toxic element, making it's AOE a bit superior....correct?
For a map full of +4 enemies, you're going to need some hard-hitting AOE Damage. Fire has the hardest hitting individual attacks in Fire Breath and FSC. Throw one more AOE attack in there from a patron like Ball Lightning, and you have much more damage potential than Claws would.
Where does Claws really shine besides single target damage and a bit of AOE flexibility? Does double stacked follow up make it more damaging AOE-wise than Spines? Because honestly, if it's not one of the harder hitting AOE sets, it's going to take you forever to farm a map of +4's. I am assuming the OP wants to actually do this at a decent rate.

Well, I think my greater point was that, given the damage output for Claws, AOE-wise, wouldn't it be wiser just to stick with a Fire? Fire has the most damaging AOE attacks AND hard hitting single target attacks for the bosses.
It's gotta be close. Bill Z has some math that shows, even with the larger radius of FSC, Spin outperforms it. I'll go look for the post and edit it in here if I find it. Now throw in Eviscerate and Shockwave to compare to the fire cone. I'm thinking Claws will still win for AoE.
I used to farm with my Spines/DA Scrapper, and the only thing that drives me bonkers IS the Ripper/Eviscerate element. Some folks roll a Spines because they think it has three AOE attacks, when in reality, Ripper isn't an AOE attack. It is, but it isn't..the cone dynamics on it stink...it doesn;t always line up consistently, and the range on it is terrible- same for eviscerate. Bttom line is- it's not going to hit 8-10 mobs usually. Maybe 5-7 if you're good at lining it up and the enemies are working with you....
I tend to look for more true blue AOE powers out of my toons these days, but I will admit that reading this thread has my interest peaked concerning Claws. If it outperforms Spines and Fire AOE and has strong ST damage to boot (which we already know it does) I may have to look into PLing one up and seeing for myself.
Btw- what are the sickest looking claw options these days? Still the Vanguard ones?

I like the fury claws.
Eviscerate/Ripper both have a cap at 5 targets. I only hit 5 with eviscerate when I'm placed well on huge spawns. As the number in the spawn drops, it gets harder and harder to line it up.
Throw Spines doesn't knockback like Shockwave.
Even as glorious as Claws-Spin is, my gut tells me that Quills + Spine burst will easily surpass it over time.
So for AoE: Spines > Claws > Fire and reverse it for ST damage.
You want the AoE damage god? Spines/Fire/Pyre Scrapper.

why dark as a brute secondary? dark is a pretty decent set, I have a couple scrappers using it and it's a good combination of mitigation (with either cloak of fear or oppressive) and heal. but for a brute, doesn't using either of your mitigation powers cut into your fury?
you can get damage auras and heals in other secondaries, so what else is left in dark that would set it apart? the psionic resist? |
