Poser?
You'd only be a poser if you put stickers on it.
I thought we were going to be talking about a 3D modelling tool...
And no, no one will care if it's not alienware inside...
If all you want is the color combo, you can always use green lights and a can of gloss black krylon.
I'm talking about just getting any old cheap case and spray-painting it, then adding lights inside.
If you like the shape/design of the Alienware case, then get it by all means.
You'd be a poser if you actually bought the overpriced hardware.

So, you want the case to look the way you WANT it to look. Seems reasonable to me. I bought an Antec 900 case. I think it looks great. But it's in my bedroom and those 9 LED's on the fans are a bit much. So I cut the wires to 7 out of 9. It's my case so I'll do whatever I feel like with it.

I'd say Alienware are the poseurs (proper spelling of the word) for pretending their general mishmash of parts is even slightly different than other mishmashes of the same parts. They're almost as silly as Apple, who hasn't made their own hardware in nearly a decade now and yet pretend they are somehow better quality than something you just slap together yourself from parts collected across the net.
I thought we were going to be talking about a 3D modelling tool...

Should have titled the thread Poseur?, since that's what we're talking about.

I don't think I quoted what I think I quoted. I got the wrong person. Sorry about that. The fixed quote now should make my post seem ever so slightly less snobbish.

My computer's a black rectangle.
My PC case has actual gauges, with needles and scales and all that stuff. They monitor voltage, case temp and fan speed, and are back-lit. When I got it all set up and running, my wife took one look at it and said, "Now THAT looks like a computer."
As to the OPs question...no.
Well I am looking at getting this Alienware case because their case is the only that gives me my favorite color combination, black desktop case with neon green lights, and in a decent looking case at that.
But a thought came to mind. If I get this case, and people actually see it, would that make me a poser since I didn't get Alienware hardware?
