They do say it's best to have food when drinking so it's a winner for me. And it's deep fried!

My god I live in the south and that just hurts my heart looking at it.

It's just gnocci filled with beer and then fried >.> not really all that hard and it's not a "liquid".

Yes, because nothing could be easier than making pasta, filling it with a LIQUID then frying it without losing all the LIQUID inside.... I live in Dallas and have watched interviews where the guy said he injected beer into the pasta.

Also it's more a raviolli than a gnocci as gnocci are not usually filled.

Ditto. I usually don't go to the Fair, because carnies and rednecks in large crowds together scare me, but I'm tempted to go just for the fried beer.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

Heh, I as soon as I heard this I knew this would be for the Texas State Fair. I was wondering what they would come up with this year. Every year they invent new over-the-top concoctions like deep-fried bacon, deep-fried butter, deep-fried latte, etc.

This year's entries:
· Deep Fried S'mores Pop-Tart
· Fried Chocolate
· Deep Fried Frozen Margarita
· Fried Lemonade
· Fernie's Fried Club Salad
· Texas Fried Caviar
· Fried Beer Texas
· Fried Frito Pie

Carnies are pure entertainment and the rednecks aren't as plentiful as one would imagine but call me and we can go get drunk on pasta together.

Fried Frito Pie sounds darn good I must say, so I'm going to be getting that with my Fried Beer chasers!

You should go, the fair is a lot of fun. I know they used to have a tiger show, but that's been replaced by a laser/light show; I don't know if they replaced it because they had to get rid of the tigers, or simply because the two shows both needed a lot of setup in the same spot with the special effects company the runs it giving more money. Also, the original voice actor for Big Tex died

But there's still some great live music, a bunch of shows (I always love the auto show and the Birds of the World show). There's the US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, a wine garden, and at least two different dog shows. (Skidboot is gone though )

There's also the Midway (rides &c.), and the museums at Fair Park (which are open year-round) have special exhibits during the fair. Personally, though, I don't trust the rides on the Midway, since with the exception of the Texas Star (largest Ferris wheel in North America), all the rides are put up and taken down for the fair -- only the Texas Star is a permanent structure.

The fried Twinkies still scare me.

I actually took the original Big Tex's(Jim Lowe) grand daughter to my senior homecoming (years and years ago).

I tried this and the cream filling literally burned my tongue. The Fried Snickers were pretty mushy. I stopped after that. I go for the rediculous food and the auto show.

Think I'll wait for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Fort Worth is a bit far for me to get to right now.

It's eating. Beer is liquid bread.

Oh god, I might have to actually go to the Big E now. Been there twice and this is the first I've heard of this artery-clogging masterpiece.

Um... the Craz-E Burger debuted in 2009. The Luther Burger (same thing, different name) was invented in 2005, possibly earlier. Snopes
