History

Ya know, speaking of nerd references, why do they always get all worked up over the fact that Lone Star screams "nooooo" when Guido shoots first? And how come no one questions the "red shirt" trope when Picard wore a damn red shirt? How come that wheelchair bound baldy never died? What, just because he could read people's minds? I think it had more to do with that annoying little alien Queue that would show up who you couldn't get rid of unless you said his name backwards....Come on, how hard is it to say his name backwards? You would think Straczynski could come up with a better device for his own damn creation. He never even gave Westley his own show like he promised, instead paired him up in that vampire show when he got older, fighting the Shadows on that trading post out in deep space.

I just don't get nerd references and I wish they were outlawed

To write something like this requires a high level of Nerd Lore. Methinks Voo doth protest too much.

If you doth protest too much, you'll go blind? What I do by myself is of no concern of yours!

Or how about, Darth Protest. The guy who had a collection of swords from fallen Jedis but preferred the dual curved handle ones? I think he had a cameo in the 4th movie proper.

But no. I mean it.

Ya know, it's always interesting to see what happens when MG intentionally leaves one of the days in Voodoo's pill container empty. Or did you double the dosage?

*And for the record, everyone screams "noooo" to Lone Stars. Even some Texans. Well, unless there's nothing else left to drink.

As a Texan, death by thirst is better than a sip of that longhorn piss.

Stop drinking my piss.

Voodoo needs to be brought up to date on the internets, that first website, tables, no css, wow.

Blech, hitting the level 20 doldrums for Controllers. Something about those are the worst for them... not enough slots in your long recharge powers, etc., not able to do enough damage, you name it. Tried soloing to get to 23 and it was a pain, especially when Doc Delilah decided to aggro roomfuls of Sky Raiders.

Where all did everyone leave off with the First Ward story arcs? I'm still on the first door mission for Noble Savage, since I somehow did not have that up when my team was working on it. Wondering if I need to go much beyond that point if at all, though. Hopefully not too much.

Getting close to the really good powers for Gravity and Time, though. Farsight and Wormhole in a couple more levels for me. And a couple more slots in my AOE hold and Time Stop will do wonders as well.

Team Hamster is 2-3 missions into Noble, iirc.

I think I'm 2-3 mish's in as well.

Horatus - lvl 50 Fire/Elec Blaster

Is that... after the first door mission for Noble? He has you talk to Palpatine, then you talk to someone else, then you get the door mission. I believe I was on Horatus's team, so I'm going to assume I should at least do that first door mission.

Blech, those shades are a big pain for a Controller. It's not worth using your controls until after you defeat the fake version of them, but the fake versions still take a lot of hits from me (where as with a Brute or Blaster, you hardly hit them and their shade comes out).

Still, I'm having fun. I'm at the same level my Grav/Kin stalled at, and that won't be an issue with this guy in Isos.

I'm going to have to miss next week, my kid has a Marching Band exhibition and I have to be there. I tried to get out of it, but noooo, she wants us there. Kids, right? Pft.

I'll try to catch up. Should I continue with the First Ward stuff? Keeping in sync was difficult since I hadn't ever done it before and didn't know the contacts, and had to click a lot of mission text sometimes going in a loop, stupid optional stuff.

I just started doing the Ward on a Praetorian MM I made, I have to say, whoever wrote those missions was overly wordy. If I wrote missions they'd be like: Go empty that building and get back to me, kid. Or, Take down so-and-so and don't come back until you're successful.

Sometimes less is more.

I can't ever remember the lore anyway. Stupid menopause.

I like the First Ward content, wordiness and all, but I'm not too fund of the through-line of the story... not to be spoilery, but if feels like you're changing sides every two seconds, and sometimes you're taking missions from someone YOU KNOW you can't trust. All the "choices" in the arcs feel like non-choices.

Other than that, I really enjoyed First Ward. Great looking zone, like the back story, great new enemies... a metric butt-ton of missions. They just need to punch up the plot a little... maybe give us a parallel track?

Of course, in the words can often be the story that would otherwise be boring if you just sum it up, like you did.

Can't help about the other thing. Enjoy the game since it's so new whenever you explore it?

And don't worry about being slow on the First Ward stuff, you should go slow on your first playthrough, if not more. Enjoy it.

New update today, so you may want to sign in early to update your client. Probably swapping out for a Blaster or Brute I have sitting at level 20ish.

Update coming in slowly... less than 80Kb a sec

Team Mental finished Noble Savage, Katie Douglas, and Blind Makwa before I called it a night.

This is the first time I'm seeing the First Ward content on a decent-sized team, and damn, spawn size and patrol sizes are huge!

Good thing we have plenty of Beams to take care of business.

If I had to pay for First Ward missions, I would be absolutely livid for the waste of money.

For the levels they are made for, they are absolutely overboard on everything; mob powers, sizes, travel to and fro to go talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk, oh and go back and talk and talk and talk talk about what you just talked about, now go explain what you saw, etc etc.

Being on teams for all of this, I just have bits and pieces of the supposed story going on. I WOULD have gone back and solo'd them on something else at some point to actually, maybe, try to enjoy the story, but having actually played through them, I have absolutely no interest in going back and reliving any of it. And this is coming from someone who has done literally every - single - story arc in the game so far on my own.

Cannot wait to get the hell out of that zone, and hopefully next week is the last.

The story arcs do seem kind of better run solo, especially since so much of the story can only be seen by the person with the arc. But the mobs are much easier solo as well... I ran through there with a Blaster and a Brute just fine while solo (I would not run through there on a Controller, though... not that they can solo well anyway at that level, but the apparitions are just a pain). The Corrupted were rough, but doable, and I did have bosses up on both of those characters.

I'd recommend them solo, the stories are pretty good. I don't like the mechanics of some of the fighting, though... Blind Makwa's mission to grab apparitions is only doable at night. We lucked out that it was night when it landed. I suppose Halloween is the time to do it.

And that last mission of Makwa's... is rough solo, but doable. But the ambushes are over the top. On a team was insanity.

I'm ready with Cerulean for next week. I think the remaining missions don't have Corrupted (pretty sure, anyway), so they should hopefully go easier next week.

I am absolutely finished with First Ward for#$#@%$@#%@ever. Beyond the trouble with syncing for various reasons, the entirety of the arcs overdid the "ambushes" constantly, overdid the traveling across the zone for fedexes and talking, overdid the psy attacks in various missions, and did I mention the talking? I'm pretty sure my contacts are still rambling on.

The most enjoyable part over the *last few weeks* was last night in the last mission; SNIPE! on the EB on top of a statue, to watch her get knocked back between two parts of the statue and the rest of the team couldn't attack her for awhile. Didn't ever notice other mobs getting KB'd by my snipe before. But I laughed. And then I found the hole to kick her *** all by myself.

I say we entice the Hamidon to invade First Ward and send it back to oblivion and we pretend it never existed.
