You will still need to get the side mission for arsons, since that's not available in Safeguards (obviously).
All the "defeat" badges (defeating signature heroes, vault doors, etc.) except for a couple that have counterparts (such as Impounder/Pedestrian) will also need to be earned by doing Mayhems.

No, they don't behave like the other counterpart ones. You'll need to collect all of them.

so are these badges some of the "have to be villain only to get but can still work on" badges? because i have no progress bars for any of it.

Don't forget that the Explores are also unique, and need to be earned once you switch sides. Those, however, award instantly. No need to be full-on Hero/Villain to get them.

Personally, I'd rather they simply lift the lvl restriction for Radio and Newspaper missions. If you get the mission in a lower zone, just make the mission auto-EX you to that level.. and/or at least refer you directly to the detective for the bank mission at that level. Then anybody would be able to do any of them regardless of status anyway.
yeah auto lvl for papers makes sense... i mean do heroes ignore street crime cause the mobs don't give xp? you know besides positron?

I really like that idea. It should of course say when you're looking at the paper/radio "this is for whatever lvl, you will be exemped", but that would be an awesome addition to zee game.

Anyway wasn't there even a quick scene in the latest Superman movie where they showed him zooming in and stopping a trivial coffee store hold-up and the news announcer saying something like, "And here we see no crime is too small for Superman to handle". If my level 50 wants to stop a bank robbery in Atlas Park the game should let me do that solo (with auto-exemplaring) without having to find someone else with that mission.

the badges from side missions and killing the hero and destroying the bank vault, all those badges; are they like the accolades and simply convert to the opposing faction version?
the reason I ask is because I took my hero to vigilante and did some mayhems. I already have all the badges from the hero bank jobs but there is no badge progress bars for anything for me when I try to do all that stuff in mayhems.
