Wow. So *this* is hat it feels like.
Just wait until you're softcapped.
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
He is exactly that good right now.
@the OP: Cheers!

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
What kind of blaster is this? You mentioned burn which means it's /fire and I'm just curious about the primary (which I'm gonna guess is fire).
And yes, having survivability on a blaster is a great feeling.

In my experience, the softcap isn't necessary when playing solo on x8. Inspirations drop so quickly that I can always keep one purple going, while doing a quick combine on the way to the next group if necessary. So I shoot for 32.5% and slot the rest of my powers for recharge bonuses.

Okay, I am nearing level 44 and still have no idea what IO sets I should be gravitating towards. Now I read this and think to myself that I should be REALLY putting a lot of thought into this.
Question is, I am completely clueless about what IO sets give defense and not really sure what other nifty bonuses I should be leaning towards. So, as a Eng/Elec does anyone have any advice? I've been playing a few days past my first month and could use a point in the right direction.

Google Mids Hero designer and download that. That is what everyone uses to figure out the recipe bonuses.
I would suggest for any blaster to go in the direction of trying to soft cap your ranged defense. Unless your toon is more of a blapper or melee fighter then go for smashing/lethal defense. From what I read those are usually what other blasters go for also.

OK, it's not perfect, but I just did my level 33 respec into the IO sets and such, now I have 25% SL and Melee Def, +27% Acc, lotsa global recharge, and 3 good AoEs.
None of that matters, because I loaded up a mission at +1x8, and soloed it. And felt POWERFUL. And felt like a GOD. And felt more like a hero than I ever have in six years in this game.
There was one moment when I accidentally touched a second spawn while fighting the first, I was covered in swarming baddies - popped 2 purples to cap my Def, and went to town. Minutes later, I am standing in a sea of motionless bodies.
And this is at level 33. I don't even have Burn, Scorpion Shield, and many other things.
Wow.
