Ninja Run as travel power
I never take Hurdle for increasing travel speed, mainly because I think bunny hopping everywhere looks ludicrous.

my stalker has Ninja Run, Swift, Hurdle and as many GotA + Runspeeds as I can fit in his build (currently 4, more to come once they make stamina inherent) and he BOOKS. He was originally a theme character (all natural, no travel power) but now with NR he gets around just as well as any of my other characters.

My City Was Gone
Ninja Run is one of my favorite power additions to the game. I find myself using for a huge number of my characters (especially those for whom Superleap or Super-Speed were just a BIT too much). And I really dig the animations.
Thanks again to the folks in charge.

The only way I can possibly see myself using a traditional travel power instead of Ninja run in the future is if there is absolutely no other power that I want but don't have already.
I even have that "Skip travel power prerequisites" veteran badge and it's like "sorry SS, SJ and TP, but ya'll ain't got flips."

If you have a Dual Blades character, the flip animation looks even cooler when coming down from a leap with arms crossed wielding your twin blades of death (or justice-if that's your thing)!
Looks even cooler if you're using daggers rather than long swords.

The Gang's All Here
For me, it's a huge quality of life power that I was more then happy to snag. I'm one of those wackos who CAN'T play without a travel power. I had to get to level 14 to even start enjoying the game previously...sure I can get jet packs or those weird jumping packs but for some illogical reason based somewhere within the depths of my insane brain the 2:00:00 timer coupled w/ the fact that it's not something inherent to my character makes those a non-worthy substitute (I know that makes no sense).
With ninja run + swift, I can ignore a travel power at 14 and either skip it all together or get it much later.
I really wish though they would take out health and stamina and just make them autopowers already...I can't play w/o stamina at least...or heck even if they just got rid of the cooldown on rest I'd be happy...Heck, if they did any of the aforementioned I'd doubt I'd ever unsub lol. I know I'm nuts, but a travel power + stam (or near unlimited rest) are two mandatory requirements for my enjoyment of CoH.

I use NR as my sole travel power on my claws/DA scrapper. With the change to fitness, I will be able to add in another travel power if I so choose, but I may not want to respec him as he is fully IOed.
His run speed is 65.51 mph.

I think you went well with taking Hurdle to pair with Ninja Run, because you can really leap from rooftop to rooftop that way.
I've had a character without a true travel power since well before Ninja Run.
I two slotted Sprint and two (or three?) slotted Hurdle.
Just the Hurdle alone is an incredible mini-travel power.
Slotted up it is quite effective. Back then, the character's travel speed was right around the base flight speed.
When Ninja Run came around, it was even faster.
I find the mini-travel power approach fun, because it can make getting around a little more interesting some times.
It's fun when you're not positive if you can make a long distance leap to another ledge. Of course, the same can be said with Super Jump... Just hundreds of feet farther away
But yeah... you get to immerse yourself in the city a bit more, which I enjoy.
Anyways... have fun!!

Castle stated we get all the powers, for free, at level 1 or 2.
