That is a serious ::cough:: ******** ::cough:: blatant design flaw.

I was able to Quit TF last friday when we gave up on it, but Kheldarn was still in till the end. So it looks like no matter what, we get stuck with an hour of "can't do crap".

I know that I would personally be able to hang out and let the first raid wexpire to have a second attempt foillowing, but some cats out there can only be herded for 1 attempt.

Edit: If SG 1 starts the raid, Stormy shows up and everyone quits (apparently SG 1 is still on the timer), can SG 2 start a raid that includes any members from SG 1? If Yes, then we could possibly get 2 or 3 SGs with atleast 3 members to start round robins until we get the Non-stormy aspect.

That would seem to be the only way to "reset" it. Have another SG start it and run it with them.

My SG and VG are both my own however they are pretty large bases and I can get CoP stuff installed in both if you need. Still need people to join to SG/VG run teams though.

Offer is there if required.

EDIT:
Can someone who was on the original raid, join/start the second raid with the same char? I'm thinking if you have to re-form the team from scratch that's going to take a while and is probably quicker to let the original timer run out.

EDIT2:

Both my SG and VG are now CoP capable. I haven't decorated yet but that will give me something to do.

How long does it take yall to complete the CoP trial?
Theres an sg on freedom that does it in 10mins. I thought it was hard.

It looks like the raid mission itself is assigned to the entire SG, so as long as an SG member is team leader the entire team can access the raid. In which case I'd expect changing team leaders would allow the whole team to run a different SG's raid without having to wait or reform.

Ok, I sunk a few hundred mil at the SG Registrar and fleshed out our Redside Base (Cataclysmic Evolution) and have updated our Blueside Base (The Wolf Pack Elite) so both have CoP Trial functionality. If Blueside does end up being scrubbed, we can go full vill and give redside a go.

(Kheldarn and I are the only really active members at this point, so we would need a filler for the 3rd spot in both groups, should it come to that.)

Yeah, I found that out last night. No matter what I did, it stayed in the mission list. And then I noticed something: Instead of being listed as a standard mission, it was listed under a header of the SG name, just like when you're on a team, and everyone on the team has a mission.

Ran myself 5 Tip missions, and then used the Raid TP to get SG Badge Credit.

My guess is that they're using Warburg nukes and other temp powers, Kool. That's how most of the successful ones with the super-fast speeds have been able to succeed so easily. Based on the changes on the test server, however, it looks like they're not going to be able to do so for much longer.

Our guild has defeated it in 14 minutes without any nukes or other temp powers, but it takes a lot of coordination to pull it off.

Since we're unable to "reset" the raid, if we meet Stormy again we'll make 2 tries at him, then scrub. Hopefully this setup will work against Big Red so I'm willing to bang my head against the wall a few extra times vs him.

And a big note, and I'll put emphasis on this several times during the raid, hold your AOE buffs and -regen debuffs until ordered to use them. I hope to try the "debuff before rebubble" tactic if we don't get him down on the first pass. No temps required, bring Shivans and HVAS if you want but I'm not expecting them from everyone.

And please note, this is an experiment, I hope to get max participation but this will not be the default "set in stone" raid build for future raids. I plan on adjusting it to make it possible for us to get badgers in once we've managed to get a successful raid. I have another experiment planned where I'd like to see lots of control to lock Rularuu down and see what happens.

I'm sorry but this is very disappointing.

I've brought chars to other people's TFs for the badge on so many occasions (I had MoLG on four chars and six runs before I got it on my blue badger) but no way in hell am I turning up to this raid on anything (including my debuffers/veat) to help out if the specifications are as above.

I'd set up my bases to help, I'd alt as needed after - hell I got up at 2am to help the last raid - but if it's "x AT or don't bother"; you got my answer.

Need not have bothered getting shivs/heavy/nukes etc.

Can I ask why you disagree with this approach?

I've been finding that everyone brings their badger (including me) and it's not working. Now I want a very specific team build in the hopes we can pull a win, and I'm willing to sacrifice bringing my badger to do it. Should my expectation that others do the same be too much?

It's your raid and your choice but from where I sit I see "bring a brute or a veat or you aren't worth a slot". Probably not your intent but it's how I read it. Such a restriction means you probably won't get the participation required. It's not as though badge characters are hopeless, normally they're well set out and the player knows their capabilities VERY well.

I would have thought it would have been possible to build a well-balanced team without making the restrictions quite so narrow. Not everyone brings their badger; I haven't on ANY run. Letting in one or two badgers per run in future? I honestly don't see that many redside runs; same as red Hami. This trial is a pita and I don't see people doing it more than a few times (once to get the badge and a couple of times to help out).

Good luck with it but no, I'm not getting up early am on the off-chance at some point in the future there might be a run where I might be allowed to bring my main.

YMMV. That's my 2p. Have a good run.

So, basically, Alpha, you're telling me not to waste my time moving my Scrapper from Vigilante to Villain, and not to bother showing up in the D Friday.

I hope A) It's a win, and 2) You're able to come up with tactics that can be used in a mixed raid in the future.
