Citybinder Update but need some help

Ok, so I came back for the GR launch. Used to use CityBinder a lot...got into it this time and got the bug to update the powersets in it.

edit: ok fixed the bug I had...so CityBinder loads now. I realized that I have to update more than just the powersets.lua file though. Updating the other files now. I'll update this thread when I have it working.

Ok here you go...updated with all powersets as of the GR launch. Also corrected a bunch.

Just drop the two file inside the zip into your CityBinder folder.

edit: if you got a password protected prompt...try again...I didn't realize that it created a guest password when I created the drop.

Ok so not a perfect update...but close. For some basic binds you'll need to set what powerset you use again for your existing profiles. example: I hopped onto some of my older characters from last time I played..and the had to remake the profiles to match the updated directory where I had my binds stored. For my masterminds I had to set the powersets again because of the ordering of the powersets in my updated file...such as since demon summoning was introduced, all the other powersets where one lower than where they were before.

I'll continue to work on it. I know there are probably a few more file I need to update to make it work completely. I've never used anything more than speed on demand really though, so I'll have to investigate the other binds available to see if they need to be updated....such as the mastermind binds.

I'll see about fixing the update so you don't have to reset the powersets.

This is my first time really messing with the program's source...so bear with me. Depending on what I find though...I might consider picking up where Monorail left off. That of course, depends on my desire to play the game....which changes pretty regularly. I'll be in for at least 3 months though...as that's the sub I signed up for when I came back.

Thanks for adding in the demon summoning into Citybinder as I use the SoD function on nearly all my characters. Just wanted to give you a heads up however, it seems that by editing the profile page it has off set the mastermind type in the MM primary selection tab of the Mastermind Henchmen binding section and as the MM primary selection button is grayed out you can't alter it manually.

I don't know if you can do this but an update I would like to see in the SoD section is the addition of the Ninja run power. At the moment I use it via the temp travel power mode but that does not allow it to shut off when you stop moving. Putting it in the general settings section with sprint and the other prestige movement modes would be a step forward but it would also be nice to have a check box so that it would activate with sprint or any of the other prestige movement modes as the ninja run power stacks with these.

Again thanks for all you do!

Thank you so much for doing this!!! I use CityBinder on all my many characters. I have a set of Ultrabinds for each powerset, so anytime I make another character with the same powerset, I can just pull up the Ultrabind. I also have an Ultrabind for my "standard" binds that I use on every character, and a set of complex binds for the sayings I use on every character.

Adding Ninja Run would be a big benefit, but I'm greatful for this update.

I have been having to write in the binds for the new powersets, but this should be much better!! Thank you so much!

For those of you who don't know what CityBinder is, it is a program written a while ago to write your binds for you. It makes it very easy to set up a complex (or easy) set of binds, and then use those binds on as many characters as you want. It also lets you use the "Speed-on-Demand" binds, where Sprint automatically turns on whenever you press a direction key, then automatically turns off (to save endurance) when you let go of the key --the same system works for Hover+Fly, making much easier to fight from the air.

Somewhere in the thread for my Ill/Rad guide, I have the links to where folks can download the program and the last update before this one.

I know about the offset in the mastermind primary...I realized that after I had completed the update (and noted it above in post #3). It was either leave it as is with the offset or make the primary powersets out of order. Perhaps I could produce two sets of files, one with the powers in the same order as in game, and one that preserves existing powersets in their place. Might be a moot point right now though, since I put this out a little while ago.

For the second part of that statement are you talking about on the Mastermind Henchmen Binds window? The "MM Primary" Dropdown? That I didn't see as I've never used the henchmen binds myself, I use Sandolphan's mastermind keypad binds. I will look into it if I can fix it though. I'm probably the last person that should be updating this as all I really use are the speed on demand binds. I've never messed with the rest of citybinder a great deal.

I'll see about adding Ninja run to it as I could use that too. I'd like to figure out how to add whatever sprint power + ninja run, since they stack...but that needs me to dig into the code a bit deeper. Adding the new powers or ninja run is just a matter of editing the lua files, so those should be pretty simple.

And for anyone who needs a link...this is where you can grab the last version that was released officially (0.76): http://sourceforge.net/projects/citybinder/

Can't promise updates will come quick...as I have a number of things I'm working on at the moment. In any updates I do...I'll try not to break existing functionality.

Part of it needs an update to the mastermind file. Mostly to include acknowledgement of the Demon Summoning powerset.

Right now though, I'm somewhat grumpy, confused as to what exactly to use as the minpow, ltspow and bospow for Demon Summoning. Right now, using demonling, demon, and demon prince respectively, but not too positive if that works.

This doesn't fix the bodyguard mode [and the drop box really too] being unselectable, but I'm not trying too hard on that end .

I just referred somebody to this thread, thanks to your great updates. Looking forward to any more you are able to do!

never posted something hoping for interest in something?

I honestly haven't had time lately to work on it at all...but it's still on my list of things to work on. I just have a few other higher priorities right now. After I finish those items I'll have much more time to do work on this as well as other things.

I, for one, appreciate what you already did. It makes using Citybinder easier for the new power sets. And I will appreciate any additional improvements you can get around to.

It is really too bad more people don't know about this great tool. I have a ton of alts, and Citybinder allows me to have a standard set of binds as a starting point, and then customize it quickly and easily for each character. I have used the "Ultra Binds" to set up a standard set of binds for most powersets, so if I make a character with any of those powersets again, I can simply pull up the same bind set-up.

For example, I have seven Controllers with the Radiation secondary including my signature Illusion/Radiation. I can use my UltraRadEm file for all of them, as well as for any Radiation Defender or Corruptor. My UltraDarkMiasma file is used on my Dark/Elec Defender, my Fire/Dark Corrupter and my Thugs/Dark MM. And when I made an Earth/Fire Dominator, I pulled up my Earth Control Ultra file to set up the primary.

While Citybinder could stand to be a little more user-friendly, it is a great tool once you figure out how to use it. If you will get some of the updates done, maybe I will write a guide on how to use it . . .

So, I finally got around to trying this update and I rather like having the new power set names included. However, while this update added Demon Summoning to the MM primary power drop box, it doesn't actually let you make the binds using Mastermind: Henchman Bindings so I made THIS.

I love CityBinder and have used it for years, even back when all I had was Speed on Demand!

One problem I could use some help with though, is even after I updated, it still spits "rebind text" into my chat channel every time I touch a movement key. ( I use tab 2 of the chat window.) Is there a way to stop this? I did copy over some LUA files as instructed once, but maybe I put them in the wrong spot?

Any help would be appreciated...

On the files, do a Find/Replace of /bind_load_file with /bind_load_file_silent

Thank you so much!

My Citybinder folder has 2,283 Files, in 16 Sub Folders however...

Is there a specific file or series of files I should do the find and replace on?

I'd just run it on the files it generates for you (if I remember how it works) or is that the files it's made for you? X.X

There is probably some automated way of doing it for that many files, but I wouldn't know off the top of my head.

Yeah, it generates over 2000 .txt files in separate folders, one folder for each key bound.. works great, though.

I'm attempting something. Will report back if it works (find/replacing "bind_load_file" with "bind_load_file_silent" in the .lua files >.>

Has a silenced version of what's up for download at the citybinder site.

Basically, took a program like Metapad and went through each file and did a "replace all" on both bind_load_file and bindloadfile with bindloadfilesilent.

The MM and Speed On Demand were the big ones for this.

That was great of you to do this, and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Did you use the original CityBinder or did you include the updates with the new powersets? Because if you fixed the updated version, I would like to put this link in my Ill/Rad guide when I update it for I-19.

I just grabbed from the download link here :

http://sourceforge.net/projects/citybinder/

Show me a link to the updated files and I'll run through them to see if they need changing.
