I have been running the 11.11a drivers with a 5850 and have experienced no issues since they were released. I updated to see if they would help my framerate in Skyrim, and so far that game runs smoothly as well.

I have noticed several new options in the CCC with 11.9, and I was wondering if I could have some advice.

In "days of yore" I was an NVidia fellow, and BillZBubba had a great guide on which settings to enable in the drivers vs. in game for best performance. I now have an ATI 5850 1G Radeon HD in a quad core i5 3.2 OC rig.

I have read the excellent guides by Je Saist and Hyperstrike about settings in game, but I am having trouble finding advice on what settings in the new drivers "play nice" with the game...

So.. My questions are:

Leave everything application controlled? and if so... what do I do with:
Morphological Filtering?
Filter- box, tent, edge detect..etc?
Tessellation?
Catalyst AI?
Enable Surface Format Optimization?
MipMap Detail Level?

I am getting 24-32 frames in the new shiny Atlas on Exalted with Vsync off, bloom and DOF off, but max everything else. Does that sound right?

Could enabling/disabling stuff in the CCC help?

Since Freedom hit, the pre log-in screens and all new character creation occurs at a non native resolution for me...

Is there currently anyway to trick COX into using my normal wide screen (1680 x 1050) resolution for these start up screens?

It would help costume creation immensely!

For the last 3 weeks or so, every time I try to access the forums, I have to re-enter my user name and password, even after I check the " Remember Me" box.

Every time...

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix I can implement on my side?

I have bought several sealed basic "City of Heroes" boxes on Amazon for $1.04 to give to buddies to get premium status before Freedom strikes.

These DO NOT work if you already have a COH account. ( I tried) They do not give you a free month, nor can you apply them to an existing account.

They are however, a fantastic introduction to give a friend, and will give them "paid at least once" status when it all goes F2P.

I use EasyTether and the Droid X from Motorola all the time.

I actually get better gaming because the Droid X tethered gives me 104 Mbps and my home wireless is only 54 Mbps...

You have downloaded a modded graphic pack. Are you playing on your own installation you know you did yourself?

Check the bikini texures, I bet you have a string "butt floss" one now too... it is a modded graphic pack that has been floating around the web for a bit.

If you want to get rid of it look in your \City of Heroes\Data\texture_library\PLAYERS\AVATAR\Super_S hared\Patterns\ folder.

I have had this error message for the last two updates to Mid's.
I do not think it is Mid's at all but my system.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit home edition.
Does Mid's work for anyone else Win 7 64 bit?
Do I need to install to a different directory?

I just did a double check, and yes, the last posted Fire/Dark Corruptor guide was based on Issue 6 content.

Is there anyone that wants to share their hints and victories, mistakes not to make.. etc.. when leveling a Fire/Dark?

I am also looking for a Fire/dark build....
If you look at the guides, the last ones written or posted are around I6, and I am very thankful for them.. primarily because I am a weirdo that makes all my characters buy their own stuff. A level 50 IO build is useless to me, because I NEED to know what power to take at level 25-30 and what SO to slot. I have many 50s but I do not sugar daddy my lowbies with cash... a LEVELING build ie what you take as you grow would be amazing to see..!

Anytime you think you are amazing and awesome and the best Hero on your team... Remember the other folks might be Fire Fighters, Teachers in the Juvenile Justice System, or Pediatric Oncologists in real life...
