Incarnates: Where to go from here?
That's great, but they have a whole team of people including our former lead dev being paid to do nothing but work on the incarnate system. I think they've got it covered.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
Also, I hate the idea of Incarnate status being tied to the Well of Furies. I much prefer a system where it's inner potential in whatever form for a hero to express, letting us give our own backstory for just why they've gained the power.
Rushmore wouldn't drink from the Well of Furies, mostly because outside of the USA he can't transform. Also, the place where the well was got trashed during the events of City of Heroes: Web of Arachnos.
They said in some interviews that the well of the furies was just one way to become an Incarnate, apparently Hamidon is an Incarnate too.
Always remember, we were Heroes.
Uh...no. ONE level of the Incarnate system was going to be in GR, but didnt work to their standards without the rest of the content to go with it. The systems itself didnt get cut.
So...no. Just no.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

From what I've seen and heard about the Incarnate system, I really like how they split each of the incarnate levels into particular 'aspects' to which none are related to things like gods, Greek or otherwise. There was Alpha, Omega, Interface, Viatae? I can't remember the rest.
For the Alpha slot the different effect names seemed to be focused on the body. Things like Nerves, Spirit, Cardiac, Musculature. Completely non-origin-specific.
More likely than not, Incarnate is Incarnate is magnitude only. You're the incarnate of an aspect, not of a god or other fixed entity to mess up the non-magical origins with. So I highly doubt that the Well of Furies would be a requirement to start your Incarnate levels.

Most of you know an incarnate system was being worked on for release with Going Rogue, but it didn't make the cut. Effectively, it was a means by which you could get (read: grind for) drops to over-enhance your powers. It wasn't much fun.
My concept:
At level 50 you do a particular task force, one designed for this purpose, probably where you get to the Well of the Furies to get all souped up on it. Maybe Recluse and Statesman team up to stop you, I dunno.
Anyway, when you win, you become a Level 1 Incarnate, which means this: you pick another power set, and one power from it (either the first or second choice, as if it were a primary power set)
You remain a level 50, but as your incarnate level increases, each level you gain can either be used to choose a new power from your incarnate power set or pick a new incarnate power set. So a level 50 Blaster/10 Incarnate might have two incarnate power sets with 5 powers from each or one Incarnate power set with all 9 powers and a second with just 1.
