Have the same problem. It's due to the store being down. And there's no word when it will be fixed.

This happened to me too. It seems to be related to the fact that the online store is unavailable. One it became available again last night my slot showed back up.

I have this same issue. Also my originally available slots are now unavailable and my 2 pending redeems for slots is missing. This is across all servers. I was able to make a few new characters early last night but now my Virtue character select pages show all unused slots as unavailable even though I have characters on slots on all three pages. (I like to keep it Heroes/WIP/Villains.)
I wish they'd hurry up and fix it, I had to quick buy a new account to safeguard the names I lost. This is outright robbery :P that and the West Coast is waking UP so they'll be trying to snatch names with launch. <paces>
No one else seems to be worried about this o.@

On Virtue, I lost two character slots this way and my daughter's account lost three... This must be fixxed yesterday! It is hard to play the much touted expansion if you cannot create a Praetorian character because your slots keep vanishing. Not good, not good at all.

I had to delete Char after Char until I only had 11 left, then I got a free slot to create a new on!
Please fix it.

Not a good thing to happen right after launch day.

i had 2 character slots empty and ready for GR for about 2 to 3 weeks, then when i logged in last night they all were gone, glad to know im not the only one having this issue.
RED CAP DAGGERS: if you want them red side on infinity, send a pm i have the mission to get them for dual blades.
This is very very frustrating to us all. I don't suppose a Dev/Mod/or a NCRep could give us an estimated time till this is fixed? I like many many other can now not play in the new zones that I just purchased and until I just my missing slot back I will be a very sad panda.

I had a safeguarded selection of names and found out the hardway deleting one of them removes the slot from my account while the Online Store is down.
I didn't lose a great name if someone grabs it but a bit depressing I can't get cranking on the new zone with new sets.
I'm sure it'll be back up... soon(tm).
Thank you, City of Heroes, for giving me a superhero social network combined with amazingly smooth game play. Petitions signed with realistic expectations.
With the free character xfer this week, one could create a toon on less populated server and transfer it later in the week.
Should get you playing the new content today, although not on the server you want.

Wow I can't believe they closed other threads about this. Obviously this is a major issue. I too couldn't use my open slots that I either purchased or gained as a vet reward. Consequently I could not roll a new toon and could not experience the new Zones. This is Bull Cuss!

Thats NCSoft Dev team for you, on the day of their expansion they cant even get the ability to claim your "Free" Character Slots you get.
I wonder if the store will give me a refund for this ****** excuse for an expansion?
All available slots are gone, can't create new characters on my home server.

Same happened to me when i picked up GR this morning and i was to create my first praetorian in my home server.. Now let see when this finally finished..
Deleted an unused 50 toon and an unused 6 toon.....plus had two open previously purchased slots...and none are available.
Not a good bug to start Issue18/GR with.

Ok. I waited. I waited. GR was going to be the big push for me. I am have had so much fun with the preorder playing the two new sets and I want to play the Ele/Ele dom so bad. So today I got caught in the same trap as all of you. Can't create new character because store is down.
Seen its been down for 2 days so guess what..
Going back to Champions Online tonight. Try again tomorrow.. If not then I'll continue to be disappointed.

This happens whenever the Online store is down, the one you access through the game. When it's down that game doesn't know how many slots you have purchased. When it comes back up you will see all of your purchased slots again.
So don't go deleting characters.

I'm having an even more fun problem. When I delete characters, they won't stay deleted. They keep re-appearing in my list every time I log back in. Their avatars are gone, and they cannot be played. But they are in the list and even if I delete them again I cannot re-use their names.
I'm really hoping this gets fixed in the next day or two.

I deleted a character to create a new one, but after I deleted my character the slot was listed as unavailable. Just an FYI for anyone thinking about deleting a character to create a new one.
