Automatic Villainy: Small addition

The story arc Automatic Villainy from Technician Naylor (lv35-39) involves Nemesis building a robotic duplicate of you... sort of (it's a fun arc, I don't want to give away the whole story).

I'm merely suggesting a small addition to the arc: Incorporate a battle using the doppelganger tech introduced in Dark Mirror. It would require a little bit of a rewrite, and maybe one additional mission. But I'd think it'd be awesome to include

I'd like to see this, but don't expect it anytime soon.

Sounds good to me! /signed

I prefer it the way that it is, but this idea isn't awful.

I don't know, I like it as is. The ambiguity makes the arc spooky.

The off-beat space pirate...Capt. Stormrider (50+3 Elec/Storm Science Corruptor)
The mysterious Djinn...Emerald Dervish (50+1 DB/DA Magic Stalker)
The psychotic inventor...Dollmaster (50 Bot/FF Tech Mastermind)

Virtue Forever.

But there's no ambiguity by the last mission.

After running some tip missions and fighting my doppleganger, I immediately thought of Technician Naylors arc.

What's more is if Tina Macintyre and Maria Jenkins can get updates to their story arcs I don't see why Naylors can't have the end fight it was always meant to.

I heartily agree with this, but I don't think that it needs a new mission. Going deeper into spoiler territory here:

Really, all that needs to be done is to change the mission objective where you find the Duplicate. Instead of clicking on a 'box of parts' they can have the Duplicate up and running.

The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

I am so in favor of this. I <3 Duplicates!

Doppelganger as a member of the group guarding Naylor would be another option.

Or, better yet, not running at all, and doing that "malfunctioning" animation that Praetorian clockwork can do.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

This would be good, but the developers who run missions just don't seem to spend time redoing old arcs, save to repair genuine bugs or player-outrage-generators, and very rarely during a zone revamp. I assume it's because they get better player response for just making new content.

SPOILERS btw

This could actually be enhanced by a duplicate. You walk into a room, and see him smashing up Nemesis bots, then he runs up to you, and says "aha! I found the automaton!" (or something written much better) and proceeds to wail on you. When you beat him/her, it's clear this is either the best automaton Nemesis has ever built... or it was the real you.

dun dun DUUUUN!
