That's it! I'm going in there and beating up each and every member of the Syndicate until they give up those fancy jackets!

And if that doesn't work I'll start beating up their Primal Earth variants too!

Stupid *mumble mumble* mobsters. Never can trust them. What?!!?!? Oh, I didn't say a word..

But, having got a good up close look at their fashion sense, it's no real tragedy that their styles aren't open to copycats. You've done the world a favor.

Hey y'all, I can't find it right now (too tired to keep looking) AND it is not listed in these patch notes, but wasn't there supposed to be 4 new zones? As far as I can see there is only three Nova Praetoria, Imperial City, and Nuetropolis. I am not counting the sewers to make a fourth "zone" since they are a natural extension of the cities themselves. If I did though, they would actually make for six zones since each city has it's own sewer network just like Paragon City. I think my logic is pretty sound here. So where is the fourth zone? Anyone?

Nova Praetoria, Imperial City, Neutropolis, and the Underground.

Actually Madadh, your problem of not being able to use your pre-purchased slots and the previous posters problem of not being able to buy GR is different, though they do come from the same source. I implied no great "Karmic" events for the previous poster, she couldn't buy the game for her husband because she waited till the last minute and the store was down. Her only choice was to wait and People like her I have no pity for.
People like you I felt sorry for since you were thinking ahead and the store going down stopped you from playing GR (unavailable slots and all). While your solution was the same as hers and the reason for needing the solution was the same (store being down), the situation requiring the solution was not (You were thinking ahead and her husband was not).
In short, I do not feel sorry for people who wait till the last minute, I do feel sorry for people that get messed with due to no fault of their own.

Whether you call it the Underground or the Sewers, it's the same thing and my reasoning still stands, if you count the underground that makes it six zones, not four (since each of the above ground zones have their own "Underground"). Personally I love GR but, I will say this, if Paragon Studios is counting the Underground as a zone unto itself, then for the first time I will cry "boo" on this "expansion".

I'm quoting from the patch notes, as well as the expansion's technical specifications. I'm surprised that, despite the surplus of things provided in this pay-to-access improvement to the game, the threshold of four versus three zones is what constitutes whether or not it is an actual expansion to you. Clearly, YMMV, but I imagine that the larger part of the player base as a whole considers it an expansion. Certainly Paragon Studios and NCSoft do.

The Underground is a different zone. I'm not positive how the tech works regarding the different area of the Underground, as I've not explored them yet (Are they actually divided up down there or is it just one large zone?).

Do you have to load from one section of the Underground to the other?

They are 3 seperate 'zones' with loading screens in between. Each with their own 'hospital' and vendors and stuff (if you're Resistance). They're connected with eachother and their respective city zones. They all have the same tunnel look about them so that's probably why they're considered one zone by Paragon Studios.

To elaborate: they're three separate zones mechanically - map thumbtacks will only show up if you're in the same zone's Underground. On the other hand, the only real differences between Underground Nova, Imperial, and Neutropolis is the level and distribution of the enemies, so it's only one big zone in terms of work for the devs.

Shadows look awful on all but the highest settings now. Previously on my 9800GT they were fine mid-setting and now that setting looks like I'm made of lego or something.

Anyone with NVidia graphics cards may want to check to see if there is an update. I have a new card (260) and just downloaded an update for it. Game looks great for me since doing so.

I checked and there was indeed a new upgrade for my Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M graphics, unfortunately after putting it in, I can no longer log into the game. A few seconds after the log in screen starts up, the graphics crash. It looked like a good idea, because I have an alienware gaming laptop, and it rocked. Perhaps the alienware techs will be able to help me tomorrow. I have been trying all day to get this fixed.

Have fun everyone.

I was having a problem logging in earlier too. I can get on now after they got the stability patch done today. It may not have been the problem, but like I said, it's working for me now.

I seem to be having the reverse problem, today's patch won't work for me and now I can't get into the game. I keep getting an error about how it can't change an cityofheroes.exe file to cityofheroes.old and then when you click "OK"... bye bye launcher. So far no response on my support ticket, anyone ever encounter this before or know of a fix?

Try deleting CoH from your computer and re-installing it. The one time I had this problem re-installing the game fixed it for me.

Thanks, GMan3, I'm giving that a try right now. Hopefully the patching process goes smoothly and I can get back in the game.

No problem. I hope it works for you too.

I deleted coh and reinstalled, and continue to not be able to log in, so I guess the tech guys are going to have to solve this problem for me. This makes me really sad. I hope there is a solution, because I don't think I can get the old drivers back now.

You can get the old drivers back, but I do not think that is your problem. If it was, the forum would be filled with people complaining that the new NVidia drivers have killed their game instead on just one or two. Still though, do talk to the techs. They can figure it out better by taking over your computer and tooling around with it.

Hey all,

It took less than an hour for the alienware tech guy to track down my problems and fix it. One was my mistake, but he said it was fairly common, and the other was a bios set up that I wouldn't have known, unless I had the problem before, and he walked me through how to fix it. I'm back in the game.
