Free stuff is always nice.
For folks inclined, like my wife, all these free transfers are great.
The cynic in me sees all these unpaid transfers as a stealthy way to avoid the dreaded server merge, and it's stench of death. 
It doesn't really solve the server merge issue since even if we take it as read that people will move off a low-pop server to a high one, you just end up skewing the population balance more

The announcement says its unlimited for the duration, I wonder if that means unlimited but restricted to 5/week or whatever the old deal was or properly unlimited.

And no problem here. I've already moved anyone important off Freedom in the last transfer. Now I have no reason to visit there at all.

I remember some info when i17 was in test... that they were looking to get servers connected in respect to what Aion currently sports. As such, players will be able to hop to other servers while in-game to meet with friends or participate in such server's events.
Not sure if/when the technology would be implemented but I just got home from work so maybe I can find a link at some point and edit this post.

I prefer deleting over moving. Simply because my toon is still there, its still useless, and why is it still in my roster!

I think he means he'd rather nuke the character from orbit than rename it, not that he didn't know how to freename his characters
Edit: although probably good to have the info on how to do it in the thread anyway so people know what on earth we're talking about, heh.
