It looks like you're pretty much randomly slotting expensive stuff without any goals other than to make it as expensive as possible. I'm not sure if you're aware that you can use most sets more than once (judging by your resist toggle slotting).

Aside from the issue pointed out above of not stacking your sets for any discernible purpose, there's also the glaring issue of what I could call highly dubious power selections.

Why have Combat Jumping AND Cloak of Darkness? You only need one -immob power, you have stealth in your overslotted super jump as it is, get rid of CoD. Speaking of CJ and slotting, what does a farmer need with a resist teleport IO? Put a -KB in there and call it a day.

I don't see a need in having Cloak of Fear AND Oppressive Gloom but maybe there is an argument in favor that I'm missing. Pick one and get something less redundant.

Where is Build Up? Why would you not have build up? Seriously.

Farmers always aim for defense. Either 45/45/45 Melee/Ranged/AoE. Or 45 S/L and do an AE arc with only S/L enemies. The best spine/dark i saw had Oblit slotted in dark regen for more defense, since with all the defense it had, it didn't even need to heal.

Change death shroud and spine burst with oblit. One more slot to stamina for the AoE defense. Maybe 6 slot melt armor with shield breaker. Tough with Aegis for more AoE. Superjump with 3 BotZ for KB prot and more defense. Maybe siphon insight or cloud sense in cloak of fear. And why shield wall proc and panacea proc but no glad armor proc? 3% def is better than a big more regen or 3% res imo.

Aim for defense. I'm not sure if that build could farm, but it wouldn't be up there with the ele/shields or other high end farmers.

Seems like you would want to make something other than a Spine/Dark if Defense was a concern.

I'm not sure how you could slot for that much defense and not gimp most all of your major powers and/or recovery.

Thank you. I once had a problem with the cap so I just stayed away from all of the same sets. I might be full of it but, it didn't work. I took CoD for soloing radios, but I will make another build for that. The main idea was PbAOE if you look at the slotting. I will swing it towards Defence and Slow. I want it to be the best I can make. The cheaper the better. Well, attempt 2.

I have seen a few Spines/DA builds soft-capped to S/L that IMO didn't sacrifice much to get there. I think if you go for any kind of defense, ~35% or above is a good feasible number to aim for without gimping a build.

Here's the build I have been running for the last year. Orignally, i had him pimped out with recharge bonuses but still found him lacking. You really dont need to hit the soft cap since you have so much other mitigation at your disposal. But a decent level of defense and you can run through pretty much anything.

The cheaper the better? That is simultaneously the most expensive, and least capable Spines/Dark build I've seen in a while.

Why would you slot a SLOW set in Quills?

Quills and Death Shroud are going to be 2 of your higher damaging powers in the course of that character's life. Both should get at LEAST 75% enhancement to damage.

Also, why the bloody hell would you slot Obliterations in DARK REGENERATION?!?!?!?

A) It's a heal power, that isn't slotted for ANY heal.
B) It takes a THIRD of your end bar every time you use it (and based on the rest of your build, you'll be using it a LOT)

Seriously, it really does look like you're slotting expensive stuff, just to be slotting expensive stuff. I'll see what I can come up with.

You DO realize that Cloak of Darkness gives you just as much defense as Weave, and it doesn't suppress, right? It's more than just a stealth power, and I consider it pretty much mandatory if you're looking for defense with a Dark Armor build.

Replacing a defense power with a self rez just says "Yes, I plan on getting killed a lot"

The build that had Obliteration slotted in Dark Regeneration was using it to get to the softcap. Your build wasn't even in the same zip code as the softcap, so slotting Dark Regen like that is only going to destroy your end bar when using it.

Dark Regeneration uses 33 end every time you use it, whether it hits 1 enemy, 10 enemies, or none at all. Obliteration has a grand total of 18% end reduction in the entire set, so you're not softening the impact of using it much at all, and since you weren't even close to the softcap....you'd be using it a lot. I wasn't exaggerating when I said you'd bottom out your end bar every 30 seconds.

The Theft of Essence Chance for +End proc is the single best enhancement you can put in Dark Regeneration. If you only put ONE enhancement in the power, it should be that one because it can turn Dark Regen from a horrible end hogging power, into an end recovery power if the proc hits on enough enemies.

Here's the build I have been running for the last year. Orignally, i had him pimped out with recharge bonuses but still found him lacking. You really dont need to hit the soft cap since you have so much other mitigation at your disposal. But a decent level of defense and you can run through pretty much anything.

Nice! I may try out an alternate build that is more oriented towards defense and see how that goes. As it is when soloing as many 8 man spawns as I can possibly agro at once, I'm always chomping purple pills and clicking macros to convert all other pills to purples.

This is the build I made up this week. I haven't actually dropped it on a character yet, but this is what I was planning. I made a build with 25% defense and a lot more recharge and it really didn't hold it's own like I was hoping. My biggest concern with this build is the endurance use. I fear it's going to be too high.
