What is this?!

The Infinity server I knew had more than three posts over a two-day period. The Infinity server I knew could post for hours on such menial subjects as "What other games are you playing now?", "What are you reading now?" "What movies are you watching now?", etc, etc ad nauseum. The Infinity server I knew was the perfect place to kill an hour or three whilst stuck at work.

I realize the population is down, and there is only like... 8 people who seem to actively browse this area. But the minority never let that keep them down before! Post about eating a fish of "lol dUmb" or "lol dark armor" or something.

You have two hours.

I got the IPhone 4 a week ago. There! Are satisfied?

Or maybe a bomb went off in Dark Astoria.

Well, in many ways, I never left, sir. I've always offered the same high-quality drama at competitive prices.

I renewed so my son could play around. I'm also eager to see what options are available to Status Crow for finally returning to Perez Park.

Most of the fun things mentioned in the OP are banned now in the new unfun forum rules. That and some of us have moved on to other creative avenues.

I see that they're trying to take some of the fun out of the Comic and Hero/Villain Culture forum, but what has been taken away here? You can no longer "lawl Dark Armor"?

Heh, you know, I think things are improving on the forums. I could not care less about what other game someone is playing. For me, the purpose of the forums is for the distribution of game related information and the planning of events. Having to go through all that junk is what keeps a lot of the "casual" players from making their presence known in the forums in the first place.

The facts of the matter are :

1. Summer time - vacations, beaches, etc.
2. Economic downturn - during hard times like these, some folks will choose to eat rather than pay big bucks for an uber video card, high speed internet and an MMO.
3. I think a lot of folks just quit until the next release of new material. They learn that stuff, quit and wait for more.

So, be patient. And please, don't encourage the posting of useless information. My search-fu is weak enough as it is.

I thought the other "useless" threads worked to unify the community. They're an option to learn more about a player outside of that they have a level 42 Ice/Radition Emission Controller. You get to know the player behind the character much more through the forums than you do the game, and it's a real bummer to me that aspect seems to have died due to either absent players or over forum-regulation by the Mods.

Besides, it's not as if there is a rush of "casual players" inviding the forums to discuss the game now that all of the "junk" is no longer present.

I could see this being an arguing possibility if we were speaking in hypotheticals. But now we've seen both approaches, and in my admittedly limited experience since my recent return, it appears that the forums were more active with both pertinent and non-pertinent information "back in the day."

Hi CM! I'm older and more bitter now, and I mostly just PvP whenever I play...even though lol PvP still because of i13, etc. Anyway, sorry I just missed the window.

Ah, I do miss good ole Infinity. Nice to see some of you guys still around, keep me updated on TF's and stuff cause I know you need lolelec blasters.

Well, a lot of the stronger internet personalities either went elsewhere or quit the game. And then the chatty folks seem to either chat in-game only, or just not here. Or people were taking breaks, and are back for today.

And Ukaserex, evidently you weren't around for the OLD, old Infinity forums. You know, like years ago when Infinity was known as the drama server and the high school server (as in, it was full of drama re: high school). I don't see what's wrong with personal chat now and again. It's certainly not hurting anyone--the threads are clearly marked and you can just look down the list for business sounding titles. The more current forums (before Mod12's/whoever is responsible reign) were certainly nothing to get worked up about.
