Stealthy heroes possible?

My ill/cold is very sneaky. It also breaks the rule of three types of stealth talked about early because you can stack:
arc fog
group invis
super speed
stealth IO

Not necessary mind you, but neat.

One really nice thing though is that the threat reduction offered by group invis doesn't suppress like the one found in superior invis when you are attacked.

Additionally the stealth of group invis and the stealth of arc fog don't suppress during combat so you are very sneaky even when fighting.

Next question:

Why does the +stealth IO come in multiple levels? Does its affect vary? Does it have to be the same level as the other IOs in a set to get set bonuses?

I haven't tested it lately, but that wasn't true of the Arachnos costume when it first came out. I was happily dancing among freakshow at the time on a Sister Psyche tf.

I can also add that I used the Midnighter temp to ghost through the final mission of the Operative Renault SF a few months ago. The Coralax didn't seem to mind the midnighter running through their cave at all.

Yeah, I can't speak for the arachnos temp personally, but Midnighter Visage works for me where ever and whenever I use it.

I've had stalkers, and I'll tell you that if you like your stalker method, you'll also enjoy a stealthy scrapper. Others above have already spoken to what works with what when it comes to stealth, I'll just reassure you that stealth is totally doable, usable, and rewarding. Even more so, sometimes, since the scrapper seems to be able to be more casual about the return to a stealthed state, being a bit more durable.

One caution: If you have any toggles that affect the enemy IN ANY WAY, you will be seen by them, and then, by all. Be aware of that, maybe testing on some greens before relying on function against reds.

Enhancements come in multiple levels, in general, because they've always come in multiple levels. in the old TO/DO/SO system you outlevel your enhancements and have to buy new ones because they rot in place.

For IO's, in general, they don't rot but the higher level ones work better. The lower ones have advantages (in terms of keeping set bonuses) when you're exemplaring- if you have all 33's you keep your set bonuses from level 30 up. If you have five 33's and a 50 you keep all but the "six in a set" from 30 to 46, and get the six-of-a-kind bonus at 47. But the level 50 dam/rech gives you 26.5% damage and 26.5% recharge, while the level 33 one gives you [...looking up...] 22.4% of each. It makes a difference when you've got four or five IO's adding up.

The +stealth IO's (or other "special" IO's) come in multiple levels because the devs would have to write extra code to make them work differently, and they didn't choose to make extra work (and add extra bugs) for themselves.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Oooh, I didn't realize enhancements stopped working when exemplared.

No wonder I suck so much when I'm temporarily lower-level. I guess it's made up for a little bit by having an extra power or two.

Enhancements don't stop working, with the rare exception of enhancement global bonus things like luck of the gambler: +recharge. They may lose value when going way down, and you will lose bonuses. (unless they are purple.)

Stealth io's function at any level, so long as you can access the power they are in to activate the effect. The only plus with lower level +stealth io's is that they can be used earlier in your character's career.

I was on a taskforce. The tank wanted to scout around a bit and knew I had Grant Invisibility on my Kin/DP. (I like the speed boost/grant inviz combo) He proceeded to scout and was taking damage so he declared Grant Invisibility sucked. I told him to turn off mudpots

Also worth noting since I haven't seen it mentioned is the stealth effect of superspeed only applies against mobs, if you're planning on PvP at all be aware that superspeed gives no stealth against other players.
Not true at all. I used the midnighter stealth in my aura mission just this past Saturday. COT aren't midnighters.

I'm no sure on the arachnos costume as I play redside so much I haven't gotten one recently.

Purple sets only let you keep the set powers. The enhancement % is still reduced.
