Goin Rogue Character Changes

If the devs can add more content and some more interesting strike forces to the mix, then the Rogue Isles will be able to keep more people around. And I wouldn't be able to switch my main even if i wanted to... invuln/ice tank. Not until they put ice melee into the brute melee set mix.

Poor redside, aside from SFs and nostalgia, its pretty much going to be a graveyard six months to a year after the badgers get done with it.

Fire/Dark Corruptors are the AoE finger of God.

As for your other point, yeah Red side will be (more) of a ghost town then it already is, Ultramode is wasted on all it's dull drab maps, the markets will be merged, and with less content to begin with it's easy to see players pulling their toons out.

I hope when the free transfers do/if they come bak out ( whenever that is ) that they dont make more ppl leave champion, like it or not r server did get smaller then it was before the transfers. 2 me it got alot smaller. Not saying im moving if that happens just saying I wish the next transfers attract ppl 2 champion not make more leave, and u all cant say that champion didnt get smaller then it was. I mean just look @ how large BMT was like say 1 year ago and look how small it got now... =/

I would likely add toons to Champion much like I did during the first round of transfers and perhaps another server that is not Virtue/Freedom. I rather enjoy having two "home" servers.

As far as moving toons between sides, pretty much all my heroes and damaged or vengeful in some way so they will be comfortable in the grey area. A couple of my vills, namely my main family on Tri are pure evil and will stay that way. I do plan on keeping a couple heroes pure but that could change if the hinted at bonuses for remaining true to one side are not as good as being able to do everything.

As to the whole 'redside being empty' thing, it is odd. I have 33 characters on Champion, 3 are blue alts. The rest are red, with two or three name holders. There was a while where red was busy, but that fell off about the time that a bunch of major VG leaders left.

As far as 'I don't play on red because it's dead'...it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. You are a living player. If you venture over, invite somebody else, or link up with other players, there will always be warm bodies.

Currently it's having the downside of social momentum; people go where people are. Where people are not, people don't go, so there are fewer people in that place that people don't...you get the idea. Of course there's a threshold, and there's a point where there's TOO many people, and people look for 'roomier' spots. With a small population, though, this isn't currently the case. But if there's a big influx with GR, it may come up.

The whole 'grey' thing puts something new into the mix, too: with the lack of a red/blue dichotomy, people will play content all over, wherever they feel like at the moment. Rogues may head to Paragon, but vigilantes can visit the isles when ever they please. ...And the redside has same darned fun arcs, so where there's fun in a game, there are players.

Little correction there... and they have an F 5 tornado to prove it.

I've been begrudgingly surprised to see through my wifes time on Freedumb how inaccurate my opinion of it has been as a server filled mostly with pvp/pl'ing juveniles.
It's actually as overtly friendly as this server was in the old days with abundant teaming and so far none of the control of the servers activity issues or related drama that's brought various mods to Champion the last few years.

So I can see why someone would move their characters around especially during a free period, but personally moving toons isn't my thing, I'll stay with a sinking ship if that's what it becomes.

Concernin' BMT's population, it's up. Hardly a week, if not a day, goes by that I don't invite someone suggested from another player in the channel, and that doesn't include whomever the other moderators have invited. Just because it's quieter doesn't mean that it's dead.

You can find team on Champion every night if you're looking for them. You just have to be willing to join what's available.

I am actually thinking about playing more than 1 night a week now. Not sure if I'm going to make changes to existing charecters by renaming and rerolling though.

Four things are drawing me back. I was really considering cancelling my Sub then they announced GR. Was still considering cancelling then they announced merged markets, this is going to make me stay.

1. Market Merger and the ability to trade and gift no matter what your character is

2. The whole alignment shift deal

3. New Story lines (This is big)

4. The ability to improve my max lv characters.

I don't believe I said anything about finding teams being difficult on Champion. Quite the opposite. That is why I set up shop here as my second "home" server. Well, that and Tanker Teusday had a big hand in luring me in.

I also have to agree with seldom, I probably spend 75% of my time redside and do not forsee it becoming a wasteland. The slightly lower population really doesn't bother me as it is. I still manage to run what I want to run and find the overall competency of play to be slightly higher redside. I am intersted to see how some of the blue side AT's fair solo against some of the high end Vill content.

Potentially stupid question time:

I saw a couple of people in this thread mention something like "I'm switching my scrapper to a brute" or "my defender is gonna become a corr" (examples). Did I miss some announcement somewhere, or are these people misinformed, or just stating their position poorly? I'm under the impression that when you switch sides, your AT doesn't change, and therefore your damage modifiers, etc., don't change either. All you're doing is running around Grandville as a Tank, with tank defense numbers, tank damage numbers, tank inherents, etc.

Definitely not in Closed Beta at the moment, so I've got no idea what GR actually does, but I've read every announcement and write up about it, and I've not seen anything to suggest anything other than what I've concluded.

What some people are saying is they will re-roll certain toons completely from scratch.

For example: "I made toon X as a tank (or defender) but I really prefer Brutes (or Corrs). Now that I can take a Brute (or Corr) Blue side I am remaking toon X as a Brute (or Corr) and taking him blue at level 20.", or vice versa.

They are going to use the AT's to reimagine their toons in a way that feels closer to their personal concept.

[QUOTE=ElectroHawk;2986811]I completely agree, their latest album is by far their best overall. Also it seem their next one is due in August and the demo song is pretty good./QUOTE]

Truth to tell (and its my shame to admit it), aside from Sickness and Stupify, I never kep up with Disturbed, but a couple of weeks ago I hear Inside the Fire on the radio and decided to check out Indestructible. Now, I have nine songs from the album on my playlist, which I will now listen to until I learn every lyric (learning song lyrics and putting caps on pens are my compulsion). Between Disturbed and a band called Halestorm (thanks for that one by the way, Cherry), I have a pretty full playlist.

That makes sense, then. I was just wondering if someone thought there was a way to switch the actual AT without having to re-roll. They were gonna be mighty disappointed.

I plan on taking my main redside for badges, then back again. I'm toying with the idea of turning my now defunct Inv/SS Tanker into a SS/Inv Brute (Tankers bore me to death and Scrappers ain't getting SS anytime soon), but my last experience with a SS/Inv Brute didn't go all that well.

I've been strongly considering re-rolling Phantoma Storm (Ill/Storm Controller) to an Electric/Storm Corruptor.

You'll likely have to wait for GR to either go open beta or live for the answers.
