Rigel_Kent makes a claim:

Those blind bids will tie up inf, lowering the price of all other goods.
I don't believe that to any significance for a second. There's far far too much inf out there to get "tied up" in such a manner. Maybe for some individuals, but not for the system as a whole.

I don't mean so sound mean but if you think prices will go down...well you're not very smart.

Just looking at it it's pretty obvious that if you mainly play red side you have just got boned.

For blue side there is slightly more demand and slightly more supply so the prices shouldn't fluctuate any more than they already do... which is horrendous, but whatever.

For red side there is a massive influx of demand and supply so the prices, like blue side shouldn't fluctuate any more than they already do...

Here's the kicker though... Red side has less money and has generally lower prices and less salvage so what will happen is all red side items will be bought up right away for bargains as far as blue side is concerned while red side will still have less money and will have to pay more for the items thats they would be getting cheaper.

fortunately we can now transfer items and inf between characters thus meaning that this isn't so much of a problem and it's on short range...long range it just means that red side has had their money massively inflated.

Though this is a good thing because if they didn't do this someone would just go red side buy all the stuff and sell it on blue side earning huge amounts of profits for a while.

You're leaving "redside will now have access to a lot more recipes than currently exist in the BM" completely out of your equation. Availability has been the major complaint from redside, not price (well, price, but in this case, it's a function of availability).

I call a frenzy of buying and selling in the first few hours of a reopened & merged market and not settling for a few months.
It will make the candy canes at start of winter season look like a ripple. First in will have some very good short term advantages.
People will try to price fix, salting the bid history with thier own sales & hoping it sticks for thier stock of xxxx they have stored away.
Lots of low ball bids placed on the top selling junk trying to snag bargins from those who shrug and put everything up for 1 inf like thier always do.

Glorious carnage like a +4/x8 ITF.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

I've run this through my Durakken TrueIntentions(TM) translator and came up with this:

Hi Beautiful people!

It's me, your old friend, Durakken here to tell red side players to rejoice, for now you will have access to many more items and your magic salvage will sell quickly for a reasonable profit.

And you blue side players -- don't be blue -- because you just got a few thousand more players to play with! Your salvage costs will go down and your profit per sale will go up.

You don't have to worry if you are red or blue because everyone can buy and sell from everyone else and travel freely from Paragon City to the Rogue Isles and back again. And even if you have no friends, you can just send yourself e-mails and pretend that you have a secret admirer!

Life is great!

On your cat, or in your cat?

Heh, like shopping in the U.S. the day after Thanksgiving...except that probably no one will get injured or killed.

And like that day, I'm going to stay far away from the markets until the blood frenzy is over.

Unfortunately, these days, this would just mean I'd have to put out a restraining order on myself!

As noted by others, literally *every* new issue triggers a psychotic interlude on the market. The merger should have an immediate and salutary effect on redside supply, but aside from that we won't know what's "really happening" for a while.

Myself, I'm making a bet on a giant swarm of new kinetic melee characters pouring into the game and frenzy-buying all the melee set IOs I've been stuffing into base storage over the past month.

Although I expect GR to trigger a purchasing apocalypse- it should be literally impossible not to make a fat stack no matter what niche you decide to work. Most issues generate major spikes just from our old friend 'the retuning player'. Along with those reliable returnees, GR should attract a meaningful number of new players.

And that will make for very interesting times....
